   Okay Debbi, here are some truly “stylin’” shoes, circa 1972 or 1973. I’m the brunette in the skirt with matching plaid vest, coordinated of course with the shoes. The others are my brother and sisters, also “stylin’” on the first day of school.

   Debbi, I couldn’t believe your picture! I was in my best friend’s wedding in 1973 and wore a dress and hat VERY similar to your bridesmaids. We all had different color dresses (mine was pink!) and white floppy hats. Brings back lots of memories.

    No Cathy, they’re not twins, 16 months apart, but when they were little alot of people thought they were. It didn’t help that they were often dressed alike.

    Christine, I LOVE the pic of you and your brother & sister! MY brother wore pants of a red, white & blue plaid to my May 1974 wedding…pretty close in pattern to your skirt and jacket! My brother was 8 years old…Jeanne, you were 17 in your photo (and beautiful!) I was an 18 year old bride. C’mon Jeanne…let’s see the pic of your wedding with the powder blue tuxes and pink dresses!

    It’s not what you were thinking, it’s “what was the designer thinking”! Pray they don’t get it into their heads to bring them back again, since style cycles. I’ve seen pictures of Paris Hilton and some other celebs wearing spangled flapper-style headbands lately.

    I forgot to mention my mom actually made my wedding gown. You can’t see the beautiful detail but I can tell you it’s the last thing she ever sewed! She quit after that gown! I think she hand sewed over 1,000 seed pearls!

    Bravo to your Mom Debbi!!! Wedding gowns are quite an accomplishment, my Mom made both of my sisters wedding gowns, 1,000 seed pearls and all. Tell your Mom she did a superb job on your gown, it’s lovely.

    Thank you Christine & Jeanne! Yes, I do still have the wedding gown…and the flower bouquet…yuk! I’m sentimental and keep stuff like that. My son (who is now 31) didn’t realize I kept all of his baby teeth…a “lot” weird I guess! Yep, my mom did an awesome job and I can’t imagine how your mom managed to make TWO gowns Christine!

    Debbi, we must be a lot alike because I, too, still have my wedding bouquet and all of my daughter’s baby teeth. She still doesn’t know this even though she is all grown up now. Your mom did a great job on your gown – it is beautiful! My mom sewed, but it would make her a nervous wreck to do something like that.

    I got married in 1978, so I just want to make sure you know I was laughing “with you” and not “at you”!! Even though the egg hunt is over, I am still drawn to the LB site…not surprised, just surprised at how strong the urge is to get on and browse through the beautiful picks in a leisurely manner instead of a frantic pace!! As I said in an earlier place, it is like a facebook for beaders!!

    I remember being in my cousin’s wedding about the same time frame. We wore yellow, orange, and lime green. And not sun hats, but bonnets. Yes, you heard me correct bonnets like Little House on the Prairie. I think the older girls, bridesmaids wore sun hats. But us little girls wore bonnets. I remember my daughter found it one day, and said what is this. When I explained what it was, she thought it was the greatest thing and wanted to try my dress on too. I think I took a pic of her in it. I will look for it. Not sure why I still had the dress and bonnet though! LOL
