“1st Surgery (read)”

Description from Luv2bead - Little Chick: Yesterday I had my first surgery! Ever since I was really little I've had a lightly colored mole on my left thigh...people didn't think it looked too bad, but I know I hated it. It just kinda grew with me (I'm lucky it wasn't on my face!). So I went in to the surgeon yesterday and he said he could take it off in about 20 minutes. However, he didn't know how much it'd cost. Anyhow, mom decided to let him do it. The only somewhat painful part was they stuck at least 5 (up to 10, I'm not sure) needles of the numbing stuff right into it...a little weird, but the nurse with him said I took it like a man (and that other people my age would have been crying ;) ) Then all I could hear was snipping (I think they used some kind of snippers) and tugging! Anyway, I'm happy it's off! And he didn't even consider it cosmetic!!! And we still won't know how much it will cost until we get the bill! LOL

Glad that all went well with the surgery and you got the little thingy off you! I had a thing on my lips when I where 11, they cut it away however afraid of suringers I cried when I saw it comming near my face. But I have had a few accidents that have had to be treated…
The goood thing with sweden, is that it does not cost if its not a boob job or something ;) Just a little fee.

Thanks Frida! I think it would have been pretty scary with the needles and such coming near your face!!!!! Yikes! LOL :D Hugs right back!

Beautiful pick, funny something inspired by something not much fun to turn out so nice. Hope you are feeling better about it today. I had shingles in my eye years ago, and yes, you want to close your eyes so you don’t see the needle, but you can’t because that’s where they need to stick it. Hope you never have that happen. Good luck.

Thanks Linda!!! I’m feeling better. I’m trying to be careful when I walk because I’m afraid I’ll break the stitches or something (the stitches are under the skin so I won’t have to go back to have them removed)! I’ve not felt any pain yet, but the surgeon said I might.

I hope I can walk normal on Thursday since I have a volleyball game and on Friday since I have basketball! Oh boy! :D

Brave Little Chick – I’m glad it went so well! And I’m glad it wasn’t for a serious problem. Are they doing a biopsy anyway?

Good for the Dr. to put the stitches under the skin – I had a really dark mole/spot removed on my tummy years ago, and my doc wasn’t so careful – it left a scar. :( It doesn’t sound like yours will. :) Take it easy though, you don’t want to make it hurt!

KittyMom – wow, THAT’S traumatic!!! You’re a brave Chicky too!

Thanks Dizzy Chick!!! Yep they’ll take it to the lab and study it (see if it has cancer, but the surgeon didn’t think it did)! I hope it won’t leave a scar, if it does I hope it won’t be too noticeable!!!!!! Yep I’m trying to take it easy (I’ll still have to be careful when I play the sports, he said I could, but I just will have to be careful when I run)!!!! :D

I’m sure it will be fine, especially since it was you requesting the removal – not their recommendation. Mine was normal and it was almost black. Under the skin sutures are much kinder than on top! Still don’t think anyone could get me to run for a week or so though!
