movie chick aka susan says:congrats on #200!!!…great pick
On May 21, 2009 at 11:07 am #
J Yee smart chick says:thanks mystic chick, not to worry, you’ll get there yourself, I know you will… sure is inspiring to see everyone’s Picks, chat and then do more based on our chats, questions, suggestions, stories…
On May 21, 2009 at 11:08 am #
Mary S - Sweet Chick says:Fantastic pink pick!!
(Say that 3 times fast. lol!)
A very soothing pick too.
Congratulations on # twoooo hundreeeed!
I’ve got a looong way to go to catch up with you. I get so caught up on reading all the chick chat I tend to not make many picks unless they just really nag at my creative nerve.
On May 21, 2009 at 11:10 am #
D D Mystic Chick says:I’ve got another 26 picks to go to reach 200.
On May 21, 2009 at 11:12 am #
Luv2bead - Little Chick says:Congrats!!! Beautiful pick!
On May 21, 2009 at 11:14 am #
J Yee smart chick says:thanks movie and sweet chick,
hey no worries as the kids would say… initially I couldn’t even figure out how to do these Picks cuz somehow the pink flower design tool doesn’t show up if you just log onto the LB website… I found out only by going thru the e-mails LB sent me that the pink flower design tool would show up… not to mention all the “favorites of the month”… yep sometimes the chat is so fun it’s easy to just chat and not Pick

J Yee smart chick says:thanks little chicky, what are your plans for the summer now that you’re all done w/ school testing? – besides making more gorgeous jewelry… any travel plans? or other fun plans?
On May 21, 2009 at 11:29 am #
Luv2bead - Little Chick says:Unfortunately we can’t really travel because we have a lot of animals to take care of. But we will maybe go on some day trips or go hiking/biking. Next week, my dad’s off work so we have to plant our gardens (argh) and we’ll maybe do a few fun things. I will be going on a missions trip sometime in July! And I’ll also maybe go to my grandma’s house for a week! Then, of course
I’ll be making jewelry! I’m sure other plans will come up, but right now I think that’s all I know about!
On May 21, 2009 at 11:30 am #
Elaine aka Belly Chick says:Congratulations, Smart Chick!! Great 100th pick; very pretty!!
On May 21, 2009 at 11:39 am #
J Yee smart chick says:little chicky,
I definitely understand about taking care of the animals you have, they sure would miss you if you did take some trips, my cats always let me know when I had been gone too long, even when I hadn’t gone on vacation… your plans for hiking and biking, the missions trip and a visit to grandma’s sounds great! the planting sounds more like work, but at least you’ll get to spend time w/ dad… glad you’ll be having a fun and way busy summer!!!!
thanks elaine!!!!
ah if only I could have some of that dreamy rhodocrosite in the darker colors w/ banding like these nuggets, and that pink botswana…
On May 21, 2009 at 11:40 am #
Luv2bead - Little Chick says:Yes, the planting is work! (and even more work to have to eat the stuff–beans (yuck))
On May 21, 2009 at 11:45 am #
J Yee smart chick says:so you don’t like beans – all beans or certain kinds? myself, I don’t like lima or “beans” like kidney etc much, rather have pea beans like sugar, snap or string beans…
… trying to eat more beans like lentils cuz I know they’re healthy food…
On May 21, 2009 at 12:19 pm #
Luv2bead - Little Chick says:The only beans that I like are green beans (as long as they’re cooked right). I tell everyone that I hate lima beans, but I LOVE Lima Beads!
(btw: mom grows lima beans…yuck…and we have to help eat them, and shell them!)
On May 21, 2009 at 12:45 pm #
Cathy H Chocolate Chick says:Sounds like you have a really big garden! I’m sure that you grow some things that you DO like. We have a small garden for things that just don’t taste right from the grocery store – like tomatoes!!! Glad that school is over for your and you get to have some fun.
On May 21, 2009 at 12:47 pm #
Cathy H Chocolate Chick says:Joyce, love this pick with the pinks!! I like the dark rhodochrosite with the banding too! I totally missed the forget-me-not fairy. Thanks for the ideas.
On May 21, 2009 at 12:47 pm #
Cathy H Chocolate Chick says:Forgot to say “Congrats!”
On May 21, 2009 at 5:17 pm #
J Yee smart chick says:little chicky,
thanks for your comments about beans esp that you don’t like lima beans, LOL!!!! yep, I feel like you do about lima beans NOT our fav LB bead company
… I love snow peas and sugar snap peas. Don’t get me wrong I love some dishes w/ beans in ‘em like hummus and even like minestrone soup! as a whole I just don’t like beans like refried beans…
Cathy H, thank you for your comments, I love the little “forget me not” fairy she’s so cute!!!!
and I sure wish rhodocrosite were a bit less expensive. However it’s NOt the most expensive kind of bead that LB carries and their prices do seem in keeping with the general prices. peru rhodocrosite is another way beautiful stone that I wish were a bit less expensive, love the banding of the peru rhodocrosite too. ah wish list, wish list…
On May 21, 2009 at 5:24 pm #
Southern Chick says:Hey chickies. 200?!?! Great job Joyce! You rock, girl! Way to go. This is just gorgeous! Right into my favs. I just made my first 3 strand necklace using rhodochrosite, the pink botswana agate and I added a strand of pink opal (not lb) I know, show the picture! I promise I will. I get home and just collapse. There is so much to so on the kids cum folders and we’re still testing. Oh well…
On May 21, 2009 at 5:33 pm #
J Yee smart chick says:southern chick,
thanks for your commments!!!! wow, you already made a 3 strand necklace w/ rhodocrosite, pink botswana and pink opal, ooohhh… post pics pleeeassesss
… I know you must be really busy trying to finish up the school year, when is your school district finished for the year?
On May 21, 2009 at 5:36 pm #
Southern Chick says:Joyce, we have 13 days left. The K’s are back to crying and fussing and wanting to fight. They had grown so much and now that the end is in sight, they seem to have regressed a bit. I haven’t even had time to pick “picks”. I will get pictures up asap. I’ve worn it a couple of times and it get compliments. I’d like to get some money for it, though…lol
On May 21, 2009 at 5:37 pm #
Southern Chick says:Well, I need to go home. I’ve finished the lesson plans for next week. Talk to you all soon.
On May 21, 2009 at 5:42 pm #
J Yee smart chick says:ah that end of year syndrome… your kids sound so “done” w/ the school year! I know from having worked in a Seattle school this last year as a liaison between my own agency and the school how hard it is to really get anything done w/ students at this point! everyone’s minds are focused on the upcoming summer! well do take good care of yourself and take your time posting pics okay??? I know what you mean about wanting to get some $$ for such a lovely creation! I’m wearing the same pair of earrings all year that I had made awhile ago cuz of lacking much time and $$ to make more, LOL… but everyone who sees ‘em likes ‘em… all I did was take a couple of turtle charms off the french hooks they were on and restring ‘em onto some gold chain w/ a few other beads and attach ‘em to leverbacks! leverback findings are my favs for earrings cuz they’re so secure I don’t lose earrings w/ them compared to ones w/ french hooks!
On May 21, 2009 at 6:51 pm #
Jeannes Gems - Gem Chick says:Joyce this is such a beautiful pick. The soft colors are so soothing.
Especially after my week of testing. Standardized tests are nothing but torture for first graders. Southern chick – I feel your pain! I can’t believe you can get on LB at school. It’s blocked as a shopping site.
On May 21, 2009 at 6:51 pm #
Jeannes Gems - Gem Chick says:ps – congrats on #200! I’m finally closing in on 100.
On May 21, 2009 at 6:53 pm #
Cuban Queen Crazy Chick says:Congrats on the 2 hundredth pick! And many more to come….lol
On May 21, 2009 at 8:14 pm #
Elaine aka Belly Chick says:Joyce, I’m so sorry; earlier I commented to you on your 100th pick and then I re-read it….congratulations on your 200th pick, not 100! That’s even better!
On May 22, 2009 at 9:15 am #
Debbi aka Sparkle Chick says:Joyce, Congratulations on pick #200! I have SO MANY of your beautiful picks in my faves!
This one is so soft and lovely…I love the pink botswana and in more “affluent” days I bought a strand…it is so lovely in person!
Often wish LB offered a few more of the beads by the piece…a lot of them I just can’t swing even the 1/2 strand right now…ah, better times are coming, I know they are!
On May 22, 2009 at 9:56 am #
KPJEWELS says:Love this pink combination. Congratulations on pick #200. Way to go!!!!!!!
On May 22, 2009 at 9:58 am #
Luv2bead - Little Chick says:We actually have 2 gardens!
)
The things we grow that I like are:
strawberries
corn
grapes
green beans (if cooked right
cucumber
garlic
We also grow these, and I don’t really like them:
peppers
onions
lima beans
squash
That’s all I can remember now.
Then we also have several flower gardens!
On May 22, 2009 at 10:09 am #
KPJEWELS says:When do you find time to bead, Little Chick? With all these gardens and animals. I lived on a farm when I was your age so I know what you have to do and how much there is to do. But I loved the farm and I sometimes wished I still lived on a farm. I love the outdoors and all the animals and the gardening, etc.
On May 22, 2009 at 10:12 am #
Luv2bead - Little Chick says:Usually in the afternoon or night. Rarely in the morning (I’m not a morning person at all). Yesterday, I made 2 necklaces with my new beads from LB and then I photographed them. I made one in the afternoon, and then one at about 9:00 at night (because I had to go to my brother’s baseball game, and when I got home, I just had to make something).
On May 22, 2009 at 10:21 am #
KPJEWELS says:Good for you. With three children in this house, it is hard for me to get on the computer, so I usually get on during the time when they go to school or late evening after they go to bed. Will we see a picture of your creations. Love to.
On May 22, 2009 at 10:22 am #
Luv2bead - Little Chick says:You bet! I need to use my dad’s laptop to download them because the computer won’t let me. I’m hoping he’ll let me do it tomorrow!
On May 22, 2009 at 10:25 am #
KPJEWELS says:Super. I can’t download anything because we don’t have a scanner. (Someday I hope)
I have a grand-son near your age. He will be 16 in September. He makes jewellery also. His favourite thing is necklaces.
On May 22, 2009 at 10:39 am #
Luv2bead - Little Chick says:We don’t have a scanner either
but about two years ago, with my profits, I bought a nice digital camera.
I used to hate to make necklaces, but about a year ago, they became my favorite thing to make!
On May 22, 2009 at 10:47 am #
KPJEWELS says:If I may be so dumb as to ask, how do you download your pictures to this site? Glad you like making the necklaces now and if your picks are any indication, the necklaces must be beautiful like your picks.
On May 22, 2009 at 11:16 am #
Luv2bead - Little Chick says:Under the comment box is a “attach a picture” link, click it, and then you hit browse. Select which pictures you want and then hit “submit comment” (make sure you type something in the comment box, otherwise it won’t let you submit)
Hope that makes sense!
(actually, it wasn’t a dumb question)
I’m attaching a picture of a pair of swarovski crystal earrings that I made (I shaped the wire myself). Hopefully tomorrow, I’ll be able to share my latest creations!
On May 22, 2009 at 11:43 am #
Shannon aka Silly Chick says:Awesome Little Chick!! Great job!!!
On May 22, 2009 at 11:48 am #
Luv2bead - Little Chick says:Thanks Silly Chick!
On May 22, 2009 at 11:48 am #
KPJEWELS says:Thanks Nicole. Oh, my goodness what a gorgeous pair of earrings. They are very professional looking Wow, oh, wow there are no words to describe this well enough. Super fabulous.
On May 22, 2009 at 11:49 am #
Luv2bead - Little Chick says:Thanks 3k Chick!!!
Were my instructions clear enough?
On May 22, 2009 at 11:49 am #
movie chick aka susan says:those are great earrings…I want a pair!
On May 22, 2009 at 11:51 am #
KPJEWELS says:Yes, Nicole, the instructions were fine. Thanks.
On May 22, 2009 at 11:53 am #
Luv2bead - Little Chick says:Good! Thanks Movie Chick!
On May 22, 2009 at 1:08 pm #
Mary S - Sweet Chick says:Wow Little chick! The earrings are gorgeous!
I’m jealous of your wire wrapping abilities! I’ve been playing around with wire wrapping but I want to learn more about it. I pretty much have to teach myself as there are no classes near by.
I really need to get some cheap wire to practice with. I have a little SS and some copper but when it comes time to play with it I’m afraid to mess it up and waste the wire. (Too exspensive!!) So, I haven’t done too many pieces with it yet.
You inspire me! I’m going to keep trying!!
On May 22, 2009 at 1:14 pm #
Luv2bead - Little Chick says:Thanks! Do you use a jig? I got one from WigJig and it works really well!
http://www.wigjig.com
I just use copper wire (rarely sterling).
On May 22, 2009 at 1:14 pm #
Anita QoG Funny Chick says:Wow, love them!! It looks like you used a wire jig!!! GREAT JOB!!! They certainly turned out BEAUTIFUL!!!!
On May 22, 2009 at 1:15 pm #
Luv2bead - Little Chick says:Thanks Anita! Yep!
On May 22, 2009 at 1:16 pm #
Anita QoG Funny Chick says:Little Chicky, I sometimes use a wire jig, it works really well when you want to make more then one, to keep them the same!!!
On May 22, 2009 at 2:04 pm #
Luv2bead - Little Chick says:Exactly! Where did you get yours?
On May 22, 2009 at 2:36 pm #
KPJEWELS says:Little Chick, if you type in ‘How to Make a Jig for Wire Jewellery’, it shows you how to make one. I have my son-in-law making one for me. Can’t wait to try it out.
On May 22, 2009 at 2:45 pm #
Luv2bead - Little Chick says:Cool! I’ve heard about that!
When it’s done, wigjig.com has ideas of how to use it (including instructions on how to make the earrings I made)!
Well, gotta go, talk to you tomorrow!!!
On May 22, 2009 at 3:04 pm #
KPJEWELS says:Thanks, Little Chick, catch you later.
On May 22, 2009 at 3:19 pm #
J Yee smart chick says:hey chickies,
wow, love the conversations on this Pick!
…. so I never posted ‘em…
I have a question for everyone – my 200 Picks includes some “clunkers” that I never completed cuz I wasn’t sure after I started what color or “mood” I was trying to convey
so my 200 might not really be 200, LOL!!!
little chicky I too am amazed at how you find time to get your jewelry made and Picks too, given all the responsibilities of the many fruits and vegetables in your 2 gardens, plus many animals that you care for! and thank you so much for posting a pic of the new earrings you made w/ copper wire and swarovski crystals, they’re splendid, so elegant!!!!
3K I do know what you mean about wire work – even though I’ve taken several classes it’s one of those skills that does require regular practice (for me) to keep up with… so I often like to do bead weaving (spiral rope is my fav stitch) or bead stringing or knotted necklaces. I like to knot necklaces with intervals between groups of beads, more fun and not quite so time consuming that way!
3K, I do understand your question about uploading pics, I tried and tried last night to upload one of my black and green “waves” bracelet, the pic and message just wouldn’t go thru and post, ??? I finally posted it under the “Summer GArden Party” pick a few minutes ago! whew…
On May 22, 2009 at 9:41 pm #
Mommykat Bubbly Chick says:Oh, 200! Great pick! Beautiful – love the Peru Rhodochrosite & Silver moonstone!
On May 23, 2009 at 10:05 am #
Luv2bead - Little Chick says:Thanks Smart Chick!
On May 23, 2009 at 5:47 pm #
J Yee smart chick says:thanks bubbly chick!!!! yep peru rhodocrosite deserves some more Picks… sure wish I could afford some, I love the banding of pink, gray and black in the same stone!!!!

Breese says:I’m new to the scene chicks, but looking at all of the past picks! They are all so lovely, how do you decide which ones are the favorites?
