Description from Science Chick Runs Sibes: Need to make a fresh design for my local literacy's fundraiser and I'm searching for inspiration. Here I'm really stretching by playing with a stone combination--all stones that are said, metaphysically, to help one deal with one's dyslexia. I'm not sure if I've got the right combo. Sugilite seemed to fight with the malachite.
Here's what the "sages" say:
Malachite-- Encourages risk-taking and change, breaks unwanted ties and outworn patterns, and teaches how to take responsibility for one’s actions, thoughts and feelings. Enables you to absorb and process information.
Black tourmaline—a grounding stone increases well-being.
Pink tourmaline--believed to have healing properties that will help to balance the left and right sides of the brain. Most people tend to use one side of the brain more than the other. Right-brained people are very artistic and focus on the big picture. Left-brained people focus on individual details and if there is an imbalance will tend to over-analyze situations. Balancing the left and the right brain will not only relieve emotional stress but may help an individual to overcome disorders such as dyslexia.
Rose quartz-- Children with Dyslexia can become frustrated, angry and even sad. Rose Quartz can be used to keep an abundance of of loving energy and complete acceptance around the young one at all times, easing these emotions.
Sugilite-- Restores balance to left and right brain hemispheres. Can aid in learning challenges

Harriet aka BeadVizChick says:Hi Gayle: I love the originality of this pick. Your research into the various stones and their meanings is very thorough and inspiring. Your true scientific self is definitely showing. I, for one, can definitely appreciate the left and right brain focus of your research! Terrific idea!
