I do believe you are talking about the box jelly fish…it’s one of the top 10 dangerous animals in the world, along with sharks and snakes. Don’t let this turn you off visiting australia though, it’s a huge place and those creatures are only found in certain areas at certain times of the year. There’s plenty of beautiful safe places to swim. I have hand fed wild dolphins at a place called Tin Can Bay, which is just around the corner from Rainbow Beach. They are such a beautiful creature, one of my favourites!!! Anyhow, here are a few pics of the box jelly fish, shame they are so dangerous as they are so pretty to look at.
