blue chick AKA TBARTON says:Hi, I am in Toronto it’s colder here, so be happy with degrees. I was in Austin,Texas last week and it was nice compare to -3 with the wind blowing in the face here in Toronto.

FaeryGoth Chick says:Beautiful combo! It seems that winter is string hard everywhere, even in Belgium!

FaeryGoth Chick says:I must not be awake properly… I meant striking hard

ChickyD aka Debra says:Thank you, FaeryGoth Chick! Yes, it’s unusual weather, indeed. We’re not really used to it down here. It’s hard to remember the 60+ days of 100+ degree weather we had last summer!

Little Round Chick says:Debra, just pack your self up and come to the land of perpetual sunshine. We’ll warm you up.
I remember cold weather. I spent my first 25 years living in Missouri. There were times when it was cold enough to freeze a well digger’s rump in the Klondike.

Mary S - Sweet Chick says:Oh my goodness Chicky D, you have us beat (Indiana)!
It was 9 here just a few minutes ago, now we’re up to 10!! Woo Hoo! Heat wave!!
OK. Bad humor, I know.
This IS a beautiful icy pick! Sorry about the bitter cold, but it did inspire a lovely creation! Hope you warm up soon!!

Steph says:Beautiful pick, I feel bad for all those puppymill dogs down there. The transport that comes up here with rescue dogs picks up in Texas also. http://www.rescueroadtrips.com they are sooo awsome.

Chicky Zee aka Alice says:Sorry it that cold in Texas but a beautiful pick onto my favs!!!! Its cold here too in the north east!!!!

ChickyD aka Debra says:Thank you, dear Friends! The temps are finally beginning to become more moderate.
I lived in Indiana ’85–’97 before coming back to Texas…also 4 years in northern Europe so I know what really, really cold feels like, but I’ve never experienced that kind of cold here at home. We usually have a cold day when a cold front comes through followed by several days in the upper 50′s–mid 60′s…but NOT day after day after day of cold weather. Looking to get back to normal around the middle of the week…excited about it, too!
Thanks for letting me commemorate this cold morning with a pick!

Mommykat Bubbly Chick says:Debra- this is great! Sorry about all the cold weather; but it does inspire beauty!

Wolfkazzy WolfChick says:Lovely pick
love that white pyrite quartz! I also live in Texas, born and raised and it is very unusual to have month long cold weather not getting above 50 degrees…I live an hour north of Houston and two days ago, low was 17, followed by 19 last night. I’ve had to carry hot water out to thaw the water buckets for the dogs, so far the GSDs are doing great out in the cold. All Mini Aussies are confined inside LOL and driving me batty…

Dizzy Chick Lori Z says:Brrrrr!!! But a gorgeous pick! I hope some of our heat wave drifts down your way! It looks like we’re finally up to the 30′s for a while. Last week was bitter cold and windy for us, so I sympathize. Truly is a weird winter!
On Jan 10, 2010 at 11:15 pm #
ChickyD aka Debra says:Thank you so much, Bubbly, Wolfkazzy, & Lori Z!
Wolfkazzy, I live halfway between Austin and Waco. No furry friends at the moment…so I don’t have to worry about that. It was 16 this morning so things are definitely improving…still, it’s another record. Looking forward to rain later in the week….we need it.
