Thank you, Julia! Just had a brief, much-needed shower. The sun never stopped shining. Hoping it will keep everything from dying.

How lucky! We had a cloudy day and only a few drops of rain , literally…

And we have thousands or millions of Japanese beetles . They devour everything!!!!!!! Including my herbs (:

I spray everything except herbs with the poison but in an hour after another army descends on the plants!!

Julia, google Wikipedia on the Japanese Beetle and there are some environmentally
friendly ways of dealing with these pests.
BTW Deb, a great depiction of the rain. We have had rain, clouds, fog and more rain for more than 2 weeks now, with a tremendous downpour this afternoon while I was out looking at houses. You can have some of our rain, if you like. LOL.

Oh, I would love to have some of your rain! We did get another brief shower a couple of hours after the first one.

Julia, we don’t have Japanese beetles in Texas, but we had a horrible problem with them when I lived in Indiana. We put traps in the backyard. it’s a green way to deal with them, but I was never sure if it worked or not. Sure, it trapped them, but somehow I always felt like it ATTRACTED them, too, and maybe I wouldn’t have all those beetles if I didn’t have th trap. well, who knows…

    Gorgeous, gorgeous pick!

Japanese beetles, aaargh! The bane of summer here in Indiana. The traps DO NOT WORK!!! Chicky D you are correct, they attract more beetles because of the pheromones they use. Like a lady Japanese beetle saying, come hither my dear.
We basically live with the greedy little creatures till they die out late in the summer.
But it gives me great satisfaction to go out early in the morning while they’re very slow moving and knock them into a bucket of soapy water. I know I’m barely making a dent in the population but my plants get a short reprieve.
Moo Wa Ha Haaaaa!!!! (Evil laugh) Die beetles, die!!!
Sorry if I offended anyone but I hate those creepy invaders!
