Happy Chick aka Harriet says:Actually, after 2″ of rain last week, things will green up, at least briefly. I’m kind of hoping a few wild flowers will bloom, altho’ it is a little late in the year for some of my favorites.

Anita QoG Funny Chick says:Oh, alittle buggy, but, still very pretty!!

Happy Chick aka Harriet says:Thanks, Funny Chick.
My son told us the fire ants swarmed at their place this weekend (since the rain) and he had to go get some stuff to kill them…he and his wife both got stung several times. Seems like everything comes out once we get a little moisture.

Anita QoG Funny Chick says:Oh, that’s nasty!!! Glad he got rid of them!!! Yay, ants are especially attracted to water!!!

CAS says:Bugs! … eewwwwwww … yucky!
On Jun 22, 2009 at 11:42 am #
Happy Chick aka Harriet says:The only cute bugs are lady bugs and LB bugs.
The squiggle is a snake- heh-heh- (sinister laugh).

CAS says:EEEEWWWWWW!!!! I hate snakes more than I hate bugs, deathly afraid of the things … (shiver) … I’ll just be standing here on top of the desk for awhile …
On Jun 22, 2009 at 11:48 am #
Happy Chick aka Harriet says:Sorry, CAS, but those creepy things are just part of life in the hot country.
I think I hate scorpions most of all, even more than spiders and snakes. Double YUCK!!!
On Jun 22, 2009 at 11:49 am #
Happy Chick aka Harriet says:You can come down off the desk. I don’t see any creepy crawlies right now. Heh-heh. LOL
On Jun 22, 2009 at 11:53 am #
Happy Chick aka Harriet says:Gotta go now, should do the shopping before it gets any hotter. Y’all have fun!!
On Jun 22, 2009 at 11:55 am #
CAS says:If … you’re … sure … Harriet, … okay … I’ll get down now. But if you see one of those icky things (shiver), I’ll be back on the desk in a heartbeat.

Cotopaxi Chickie Sue says:Happy Chick, this is lovely – except for those creepy crawlies…and the snake! haven’t seen any rattlers yet this year, but I think the warm weather is finally starting to come. Won’t be long before our property starts looking like your pick!

Mayan Chick - Lilly says:Beautiful pick. Fav!
On Jun 22, 2009 at 7:36 pm #
Happy Chick aka Harriet says:Thanks ladies!
Sue, we’ve already had to kill a rattler in our yard…can’t risk it with the pets and our grandaughter playing out there. I know they have a place in the ecology, but rattlesnake bites are so very dangerous.

Happy Chick aka Harriet says:I finlly got my big century plant picture to load. This thing is about 6′ diameter, and at least 5′ tall. Not sure how long this one has been growing, but if it ever blooms, it will die afterward.

Happy Chick aka Harriet says:Nite, y’all. Have to go check on my grandaughter and husband—they are painting the birdhouse they built last nite.
On Jun 22, 2009 at 9:26 pm #
Anita QoG Funny Chick says:Nite-nite, Happy Chick!!! That sure is a big one!!!!

Love the pix of your century plant, too!
