I used to say I did not like blackeyed peas. The restaurant here in town does some great southern foods blackeyed peas included.

Faith–a recipe that will make you fall in love with black-eyed peas is Madhur Jaffrey’s “Blackeyed Peas with Mushrooms”–Indian spices and tomato (you control how hot it is because chile pepper is added separately). My cookbook falls open to this recipe and it is a tradition with us to have it every New Year’s Day. I might need to make it again this weekend-LOL.
