Description from Wishing Stone: I have an idea to put most of these stones together in a necklace set. Before I shop, I wanted to know: has anyone worked with the sunflower agate before? How does it compare to the pictures on LB's site? Are the stones holey in bits or not? I just can't make up my mind about them and would appreciate advice...
THANK YOU!

J Yee smart chick says:Wishing Stone, although I haven’t bought any of the mexican sunflower agate, agates like these are pretty versatile, you have a lot of really beautiful possibilities in this Pick that look like they could work well together – what does the mexican sunflower agate make you think of – I know sometimes it’s difficult to figure out how to work properly with a gemstone – and hope that others here can advise –

Wishing Stone says:Almost the whole pick is in my bag at this stage. I want something that says bright autumn day and isn’t really about the changing leaves…

Vampire Chickie Ravin says:These are all fabulous stones and colors. I LOVE the Mexican Suflower Agate, it is realy versatile, goes extremely well with yellow opal and smoky quartz in my humble opinion. As far as wanting something not specificaly focused on the changing leaves, well, I dunno if this’ll help, but for me, autumn is a melancholy, yet beautiful season, my favorite. It’s the time when the old is starting to fade to make way for the new. Fall makes me think of hot tea, rich stews and soups, long late afternoon and evening walks, bright moonlit nights filled with stars. Light breezes that tickle your skin, cuddling on a porch swing, and all manner of other things. Nature preparing for the long winters rest ahead, squirrels collecing, bears filling up, and all that…meh, I know, I’m weird, heh.

Daisy Chick - Dawn says:I love this pretty pick, but I can’t help you. Maybe you could just leave out the Mexican Sunflower Agate in favor of something else if you are not sure. I have to agree with Ravin about Autumn though and no Ravin you are not wierd. I feel the same way about fall. I would add apple picking, Halloween, Raking leaves, a fire in the fireplace…..

Vampire Chickie Ravin says:oh yeah!! And jumping in the lef piles when you’re done raking too!! Woot! And Halloween, yah, halloween is my x-mas, my very favorite holiday!! Also the smell of wood smoke….such a wonderful peaceful smell.

Vampire Chickie Ravin says:I also usually make home made honey meade, and apple wine in the fall as well.
On Sep 03, 2010 at 7:03 pm #
Daisy Chick - Dawn says:I do too! Love cider hot! I serve it every Thanksgiving! I have never tasted Honey meade, but I have had apple wine! I made apple butter the other day with some apples I picked. Is honey meade hard to make?

Cotopaxi Chickie Sue says:Very pretty pick! Can’t wait to see what you come up with in a necklace set! If you get chosen for POD, then you could buy the sunflower agate at a discount! I haven’t worked with it either, so I’m afraid I’m not any help…
