Description from Mary S - Sweet Chick: We picked 20 gallons of pears off our tree. (Not sure how that measures out in bushels). I've made canned pears, spiced pear jam, pear preserves, pear crumble pie and I still have about 5 gallons waiting in my basement to be used.
I am all peared out!!
Next to ripen is our two Asian pear trees! Ugh!!!

Mary S - Sweet Chick says:Thanks ladies!
Merilee, I’m not familiar with Pear Chutney. What exactly is it?
Except for the raisins it sounds like preserves.

Chicky Red-haired Grammy says:It may well have been preserves which I used as chutney with chicken. I made it at least 30 years ago and found the recipe in probably the Ball Canning Book or some such publication. I do remember the pears being cut into 1/2-ish inch dice and making a tremendous mess, all with the help of hundreds of fruit flies. It was delicious! Good luck.
