Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:What a lovely pick, Ravin, for the Rainbow Bridge and all the much-loved, special friends of ours who are waiting there for us!

Wolfkazzy WolfChick says:Beautiful pick…into my faves, definitely the right pick for the Rainbow Bridge.

Sarah aka iamhydrogen says:Very very cool Ravin. Added to my favorites. How are you doing?
For anyone trying to cope with the loss of an animal friend, I found a really great book after my kitty Gus died: “Rainbows & Bridges: An Animal Companion Memorial Kit.” It includes a book about dealing with grief of the loss, a journal that guides you through recording memories of your pet’s life & death, and a little deck of cards with meditations on your pets loss. I kept the meditation deck on my nightstand for months after I lost Gus. The whole “kit” emphasizes the spiritual connection between people and animals, and thus why grieving their loss is so hard. It’s very spiritual, but the authors (a couple) have written it in a way that anyone of any faith can access the material.

Vampire Chickie Ravin says:How much does the book/kit cost? I would really like to get it, I’ve lost too many furry children this year and last, Chesis and Draco being the most difficult. I’m doing better than I was Sarah, thanks mostly to everyone here at LB. I’m still hurting, and will be for a long time to come I’m sure, but knowing and talking to others who understand, share and empathize with my grief helps so much. With all of you, and all of you all’s support, I don’t feel as if I’m crying alone, in fact, I know that I’m not.

Daisy Chick - Dawn says:Whaat a wonderfful suggestion Sarah! I would like to know the details on where to purchase this too. When my dog Holly died I planted a Redbud tree for her. She always liked lying in the shade of a tree in the yard.

Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Sarah, what a wonderful kit — where did you get it? In a bookstore or online? Thanks for any info you can provide!

Yvette R says:I just lost my dog a few weeks ago. Sweet idea.

Sarah aka iamhydrogen says:I got it at Barnes & Noble, in the store. I think it was $25? It was in the Animals section, where there’s a subsection on Pet Grief (which I wandered into with puffy red eyes).
You can get it on Amazon too, it’s only $19 there:
