burning leaves, eh, Merilee, thank you for describing this one, I sometimes am unsure about doing autumh picks, since I grew up in HI, where we don’t have leaves changing color. The leaves definitely do change color in Seattle, although not to the degree and intensity that they do in other areas where there’s more clearly defined seasons – like where you live.
I love the gorgeous bright colors of the leaves every year, from deep mustard yellows, to orange, and flaming reds, some deep garnet reds!!

Minnesota has the golds and yellows of the birch, maple and poplar, the red of the red oaks and red maples and the gorgeous counterpoint of the dark green conifers. New Hampshire and Vermont have the yellows and reds but also glowing orange and some deep purple. Just different hardwoods making a fabulous crazy quilt of colour.
