Description from Chickie Nonnie T: I feel so incredibly stupid! Here I am Pecking at the keyboard again...This morning I was trying out my new mandolin slicer(which is orange by the way)from QVC. The thing works great - extremely sharp! Like an idiot I Didn't use a safety holder on my celery(couldn't figure out how to attach the celery). Next thing I know, I've sliced the pad of my index finger! Ouch!! I thought it would never stop bleeding...anyway, I held ice on it(with many napkins)til it finally stopped. Moral of this story - accidents happen fast and sometimes when we just do something really stupid for a second! I do give the slicer 5 stars though..

NY Bella says:Ouch is right! Be very careful with the mandolin! My sister sliced off the top of her index finger while using one. She was lucky; the doctor was able to re-attach it, but it took over a month for it to heal. She didn’t throw the mandolin out, but she uses it with extreme care. A cautionary tale!

MoonBell says:Aww… I’m sorry, I hope it heals quickly. I do like the pick, though. Just a note I picked up from having borderline-anemia my whole life. Ground black pepper (yep, like on your table) will help your blood clot quickly, and it doesn’t sting like you’d think, either. I was about to go on and on about how much I bleed from a simple paper cut, but I don’t think I will.

Actually i can use 3 fingers and a thumb, so I’m in good shape! Are you sure that pepper doesn’t burn? There’s no skin on the end of my finger-I’m such a baby!
