Black Pepper Almonds
combine in a small bowl:
1 tablespoon coarsely ground (freshly ground) black pepper
2 teaspoons kosher salt
Melt 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter in fryingpan. Add 3/4 cup packed brown sugar and 4 teaspoons water, stir until dissolved.
Add 3 cups whole almonds, and 1/2 of the s&p mix. Stir & cook until mixture is thickened, about 5 minutes.
Transfer to foil lined baking sheet. Spread out nuts and sprinkle w/ remaining s&p. Bake at 350F until deep golden brown, about 10 minutes.
Cool on foil on rack. Store in airtight container.

WARNING: if you plan on taking these to a party, and do not live alone, you must hide the nuts… or they will be gone before you know it, and you’ll have to stop on your way to the party for a bag of chips…
