“Bat in Black”

Description from Julie Shane: Why do bats have such a bad reputation? Officially they are furry, have big eyes and big ears, and love to play at night. Sounds like the typical fur-baby to me. Oh my!

Have you ever seen a bat close up. I have several times. We had one get into our house in NY and didn’t know where he got to. So everyone went to bed eventually. About the time I turned off my light and was settling in to try sleeping, I felt a breeze. I knew it was the bat. I screamed and pulled the covers over my head.

Rick was sleeping in the next room and came over to help. I was sleeping in Scott’s room and the bat was on one of Scott’s paintings. So Rick pushed out the screen and threw the painting and bat out the window.

I had several other experiences sleeping at Scott’s house when we’ve gone to NY to visit them. He has a 100+ yr old house and bats in the attic. They are creepy looking. I know that some people think they are cute like mice but I just don’t see it that way.

But I do love your pick. Excellent collection of beads. I want to get some sardonyx some day. Those lovely flat ovals would make a nice choker necklace. POD please?

Never seen one in real, but I think it would scare me having one flying around me. Great pick for your bat theme, Julie!

I think they are cute! They are furbabies who can fly. Dogs and cats have sharp teeth, too, so why are we afraid of bats? Rabies? OK, I’ll give you that, but only a tiny proportion of them are infected. Love your design to honor the little ones. :)
