“Bits of Chocolate”

Description from Julie Shane: I found the lovely Unicorne Valetta in the BGBM. Hurray! I have bronzite and chocolate brown pearls. I'm going to add a few pyrite roses on the left side (been collecting them from each Christmas order!). Then I'll figure out something to do with the SuperDuo beads on the right side. Ribbon in the back? Pretty bow mixed with the SuperDuos?

Look Deb and Asia… NO crystals! ;)

Like your idea, but how one uses the duo beads, please somebody tell me, asked that question before. Yes Julie, no crystals this time, I think that Valetta has enough of it ;)

Asia, I saw a bracelet made with the SuperDuo beads. I don’t know how to explain it so I’ve attached a sketch. It’s like you “off set” the beads for each row and fill in the outside with a matching seed bead.

I’m not saying it’s going to work! But I’m going to try it. ;)

The sketch is really helpful, and makes sense. Huh. I’ll have to take another look at the duos.

Love the colors in this pick. They’re subtle, but with the ribbons, there’s enough warmth. Well done!

    Asia says:

That has to involve tread and needle I guess, I can’t do it, I’m terrible with tread, but thank you for the info, Julie :D

Asia, I think you can do this with 3 pieces of wire. Attach all 3 pieces to a clip board and then “weave” them onto the wires.
I did something similar with the little square Czech tile beads. It takes time, but the result is pretty.

Thanks Laud. It doesn’t look it in the pick, but the Valetta is a “stand out” piece since it’s twice as big as the other beads. I think the ribbon will make it softer since the bronzite and pyrite have a hard look to them.
I’ll push this near the top of my “to do” list and then post it when and if I’m happy. :)

Okay is it just me or do the superduos look like little mask faces?

Now that you mentioned it they do to me too, sort of a Venice Carnival

I have made bracelets using the super duos and they are fun to work with. Your pick is so fun and inspires me to make something from it. :)

    Julie Shane says:

PPR, Did you use them in the same way as my sketch that I saw elsewhere? Or do you have another idea? PLEASE!!! Show us a pic of your bracelets! :)

I think a lot of us like the SuperDuos but don’t know how to use them.

yum! can’t wait to see this finished! These colors are divine together!

Asia, if you can do all the stuff you already learned to do, thread and needle has got to be doable for you. :) It just takes practice. I don’t do bead embroidery yet but I sew and have done regular embroidery so I can’t see it as being much harder. Take a deep breath and jump in. :)

    Frida, You are so clever!!!
There are lots of sites with patterns and tutorials. And these beads go by several names. I’m attaching pics of 3 semi-simple designs. Don’t laugh… I copied the pic from the website but didn’t know how to get it to my pics folder… so I snapped a pic of it with my phone from my computer screen. I’m both a dork and computer-illiterate!!! ;)
