   Harriet, I didn’t get hurt this time, I witnessed a rather terrible car accident yesterday. It was very frightening- one of those you are pretty sure someone isn’t walking away from. I was very sad, and my daughter wad in the car, & neither she or I could sleep last night because of it.

   It was so sad! It was one of those movies where you thought – oh this can’t be real! There was a pedestrian, and 2 cars in total, one car hit the person, and he flew under the other. All night, it kept replaying!
   I am so sorry you had a similar like experience. I hope this doesn’t drag up unplesant memories for you!!

   Oh no. It’s ok. But I do know what you are talking about with the reoccurring movie playing over and over. My daughter who was 6 and I were on a major interstate during the winter time heading to a dentist appt. All of a sudden there was black ice, car and tractor trailer collided which left all other cars scrambling for a place to stop so we didnt hit the accident scene! God was truly looking over and protecting that day, because my vehicle thankfully got stopped in the piles of snow beside the berm. And literally, 4 side-by-side tractor trailers got stopped behind and beside us. No one hit us in the whole mess. Amazing. But, as I got stopped I watched, with no control, all of these huge trucks just get stopped and line up all around us. After all of that, we had to sit and wait out the storm for 3-4 hours only turning on the vehicle every 30 min. or so to conserve gas! Once they had the 3 vehicle accident cleaned up, we had to wait for them to salt the road to even get going again. All vehicles were then routed off the interstate b/c it was so slick. And it took me several years to get that movie to stop playing in my dreams. I had a young child with me and that was the scariest of all. There was no where to go to avoid anyone from hitting the back end of you. I did have a DVD player in our car for her to occupy her time. The news of course was in the papers and on tv. And to imagine we drove away with not a scratch on our vehicle and 2 saved lives, is truly a miracle!

   That is truely a blessing!!!! Sometimes it is amazing the reminders there are that God is watching over us!!! I cannot imagine how terrifying that was for you! I was not even close enough to be involved, just to view the disaster, but that still is giving me nightmares. I am very glad that you were not hurt!!!

    Wow, Mommykat and Valentine Chick! I can’t imagine going through something like that, especially your incident, Valentine Chick…God was surely looking after you and your daughter that day!

    Yes! You know I really think she was too young to remember and to know exactly how much trouble we could have been in. And you know as mom, you have to be calm, cool, and collected while you are truly scared to death. I remember praying to God not to let any vehicle slam into us as I was watching the tractor trailers line up in rows and columns around us. I never knew how wide across that interstate must be because they fit perfectly, like “someone” did it by hand!
