“Body by Dr. Prednisone!”

Description from Chicky Red-haired Grammy: Argh!!! Too many months of prednisone has made my body lumpy and dumpy. Ordinarily I lose my appetite and subsequently lose weight but this time --- too many months on the stuff has filled all my fat cells. None of my trousers fit; thank heaven for stretchy jersey skirts!
My next pick shall be on the benefits of prednisone for wrinkle control.

LOL! You are hysterical! Cute pick and thank goodness stretchy’s are in! Have you seen the pajama jeans?

No! What are pajama jeans? Jeggings? Not on this body in its present condition, thank you very much!

LOL – I can relate to this one – I take prednisone frequently for colitis attacks. You hit this one on the head!!! And yes it does make for softer, smoother, almost wrinkle-free skin, but the cost on the body is pretty high :>/

Pajama jeans are stretchy’s that look like jeans. Google them!

Sounds like prednisone is no fun :( .

Great pick for the love hate relationship with Prednisone. Those two visits to the hospital last year were opportunistic infections related to being on prednisone for my autoimmune, Sjogrens. Led me to decide I wasn’t taking anymore of the stuff. It is a miracle drug with a price. Unfortunately, as we know, some times it’s the only way to get back to some level of ‘normal’. Hope your health continues to improve when you get back state-side.

I absolutely HATE prednisone. My face gets so hot the skin burns. The rest of the side effects are worse. :) I have only had temporary prescriptions and mine are for pain inflammation. I have a ton of sympathy for any of you chickies who have to take it regularly for immune reasons. Jacki, has your Sjogrens flared up again since you quit? There has to be a better way than this nasty drug to keep your immune system calmed down. Merilee, I hope being in MN lets your body calm down around familiar allergens. It sure sucks to get old, doesn’t it? and your pick? Hilarious!!! xoxo!

    Chicky Red-haired Grammy says:

The toll exacted on the body by prednisone is appalling: tissue paper skin, hair and bone loss, water retention, weight gain and on and on … after a series of allergy skin testing showed major reactions to our currently leafing-out trees and grasses, I shall undergo the desensitisation regime next January. Fingers crossed for a terrific outcome!
