Marlene says:Just bought an orthoceras pendant at my LBS the other day – came home, dropped it, broke it, cried a little, got over it, glued it. Doesn’t look too bad because it broke along the pattern of the curve – but aaaarrrrrgggghhhhh! It was the best one there! Wanted to wire wrap it when I get good enough. Didn’t know LB carried them – somehow missed that, but I guess I’ll have to order one from them and take better care of it. How would you wrap something like this? Have you done any wire wrapping? Love the pick. The black sardonyx flat oval really mimics the shape and look of the orthocerus nicely.

puppychick labratbecky says:Love the pick but what a sad little story from our dear Marlene! I have an orthoceros from LB and I am going to attempt to wrap it so that the front supports follow the lines. Come to my house, we can do this together.
Michaels stores carry a little how-to pamphlet to show you how to do it if you have any of those craft stores where you live.

Marlene says:I do have a Michaels nearby, but have never seen a pamphlet on how to wire wrap an orthoceras (or is the pamphlet about wire wrapping in general?). It would be lots of fun to come to your house to ‘wrap’ together, but we probably live on opposite sides of the continent. I’m sorely tempted though. I like the idea of wrapping it to follow the lines on the front – good thinking, and thanks for sharing the idea!

puppychick labratbecky says:Pamphlet is general how to wrap but the front pic looks like that method would work on the orthoceros. I found it by the German style wrapping wire. Any time you are in the St. Paul, MN area, please pop in.
