Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Lorrie, Sue lives in CO.
On Sep 21, 2009 at 4:42 pm #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Sue, I can’t believe this! Well, yes, I can….LOL So sorry to hear you are already snowed in for the Winter…..
What a pretty pick to describe the miserable weather conditions you have up on your mountaintop, girlfriend!
On Sep 21, 2009 at 5:16 pm #
Chicky Zee aka Alice says:Snow that’s expected nice pick.
On Sep 21, 2009 at 5:28 pm #
Chicky ChaCha says:My Dear Chicky Sue—you are not snowed in are you? I know you live in those beautiful mountains. September is too early for snow!! Glad you made it back home before it started sticking! BTW: I love the pick but just not your early snow situation! LOL!
On Sep 21, 2009 at 6:03 pm #
Helen G aka tea chick says:Sue, here in Littleton we got some rain this morning, then snow, then rain, now it’s pouring rain and hailing! Aack! Gotta go pick up Emma at the school bus stop- it’s 2 blocks away but we’re taking the car!
On Sep 21, 2009 at 6:12 pm #
Cotopaxi Chickie Sue says:Thanks everyone! I just got home from work, hated driving down the yucky, slippery switchbacks, and now to prove my point I’m attaching pics!
Helen, hope you don’t get any hail damage! it’s still snowing up here – these pics were taken about 10 minutes ago…
On Sep 21, 2009 at 6:35 pm #
Cotopaxi Chickie Sue says:OK, my pictures aren’t downloading. I’ll try one at a time….
On Sep 21, 2009 at 6:39 pm #
Cotopaxi Chickie Sue says:You wouldn’t believe this is taking 10 minutes per pic…sigh! Next pic is probably the reason – it is the direction of my satellite dish…

Leigh D says:Holy Cow – I cannot believe this – snow already – OMG!!!!!
On Sep 21, 2009 at 6:44 pm #
Cotopaxi Chickie Sue says:Leigh, you just never know about Colorado weather! Sure is pretty, tho’…
On Sep 21, 2009 at 6:49 pm #
Leigh D says:Do folks in CO at least know how to drive in the snow? Here in TN they close schools for an inch. Not to mention the drivers here don’t seem to understand the concept of freezing water – wet + cold temps = ice, which means you cannot drive like a yayhoo!!!
On Sep 21, 2009 at 7:06 pm #
Cotopaxi Chickie Sue says:Leigh, we have a lot of transplants in CO – which means some of us know how to drive in snow, slush, and ice, and others are clueless. I know what you mean about the yahoos and ice – some of them think that, since they have 4 wheel drive, they are invincible! Of course, they are usually the ones in the ditches…
On Sep 21, 2009 at 7:13 pm #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:ROTFLOL Sue & Leigh — are you sure you’re not talking about Indiana drivers in Winter?!?!?! No one here (except for me and hubby, of course!) knows how to drive safely on snow and/or ice! Yikes!!!
And it cracks us up when the lead story on the nightly local news is the WEATHER because we MIGHT get a half inch of snow overnight; therefore, they will delay the schools by 2 hours in the morning!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
On Sep 21, 2009 at 7:14 pm #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Bob & I do a LOT of eye rolling during the local evening news weather reports during the Winter…..LOL
On Sep 21, 2009 at 7:27 pm #
Leigh D says:I hear you Lynn – I used to be one of those kids glued to the screen hoping and praying my county would have the little snowflakes over them indicating we were out of school. Now though, weather doesn’t really affect my day – I work from home so as long as I can walk from my bedroom to the office I am good to go!
On Sep 21, 2009 at 7:33 pm #
Cotopaxi Chickie Sue says:It’s great working from home, isn’t it? Or at least having a very short drive to work! Lynn, I was in GA one year working on some equipment, and they were about to get a cold snap and rain/ice…everyone was panicking! They closed work early!
There is an advantage to growing up in northern MN!
On Sep 21, 2009 at 7:36 pm #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:The one and only advantage……LOL
On Sep 21, 2009 at 7:48 pm #
Mommykat Bubbly Chick says:I love school closing days even though it means I will have 5 kids home with me because I don;t have to worry about them being driven on the roads while you all are out driving. LMAO here
On Sep 21, 2009 at 7:49 pm #
Mommykat Bubbly Chick says:That didn’t sound right- I mean Well, I didnt mean you specifically…. just anyone driving while the kids are on the bus!
On Sep 21, 2009 at 7:51 pm #
Sali Jo GemsChica Chick says:It is SO beautiful….Fed Ex delivers here you know…..pack it up….we love snow in Georgia…everything closes up at the first flurry and the grocery stores become a mad house….
On Sep 21, 2009 at 7:53 pm #
Leigh D says:HAHAHAHAAH – Like everyone is going to run out of milk and bread at home in one whole day – if the snow actually stays around that long
On Sep 21, 2009 at 8:04 pm #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:OMG — you should see the lines at our grocery stores here in Indiana at the first hint of a snowflake!!! ROTFLMAO You’d think people were going to have to use the Sear’s catalog in the bathroom….
Leigh, you are SOOOOO right about the food situation! I mean, what do they do at home during that snow day — train for a non-stop eating contest?!?!?!
On Sep 21, 2009 at 8:05 pm #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Lorrie, I am highly insulted that you do not want your children out on the road when I am driving. ROTFLMAO
On Sep 21, 2009 at 8:07 pm #

On Sep 21, 2009 at 8:12 pm #
Mommykat Bubbly Chick says:Yup, and I love you back!
On Sep 21, 2009 at 8:13 pm #
Jeannes Gems - Gem Chick says:Sorry, Sue, we had bright sunshine – 75+ degrees here on Long Island. I can’t believe that snow you got!
It inspired a very cool pick!
On Sep 21, 2009 at 8:14 pm #
Fashion Chick aka SC says:Sue, your pictures are gorgeous!! Sorry to hear about your weather.
On Sep 21, 2009 at 8:20 pm #
Valentine Chick says:The pix are gorgeous and so is your pick. Your back deck has a beautiful view!
On Sep 21, 2009 at 8:33 pm #
J Yee smart chick says:Sue, I’m sooo amazed at your pics of the SNOW in your backyard…
Leigh D and Lynn, I’m also ROTFLMAO at the many comments from both of you about people panicking at the first sign of snow… you must have been – er hum… channelling the Pacific northwest, aka western Washington!!! Last December we had a record couple of weeks of snow, and our lovely city didn’t clear the streets off, buses were rerouted etc… so I was homebound for over a week… sidewalks were a mess… yeah, we too are horror stricken at the THOUGHT of a little snow… drivers here get kinda nutty w/ some rain… OK I can see being somewhat nervous about snow, we do have lotsa hills, but rain???
On Sep 21, 2009 at 8:50 pm #
Leigh D says:Don’t get me started on rain…folks here take rain as a sign to speed up…heard of hydroplaning folks?????
On Sep 21, 2009 at 8:58 pm #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:HAHAHAHAHAHA We must share the same wacky drivers, Leigh!!! The ones in Indy either drive way too fast or way too slow for the conditions on the highways……more eye rolling……Sigh.
On Sep 21, 2009 at 8:59 pm #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Sue, I do believe I forgot to mention how much I love your pix, even though you really shouldn’t have snow yet!!! LOL
On Sep 21, 2009 at 9:07 pm #
Cotopaxi Chickie Sue says:You are all so funny!! I’m ROTFLOL right now! I know this won’t apply to us, but….didn’t these people ever take a driver’s ed course?? Whatever happened to good old common sense? Lynn and Leigh, you are so right – the grocery stores are crammed with people when a little snowflake hits – like it’s going to be the blizzard of the century!
Jeanne, Lorrie, Fashion Chick, and Smart Chick – the wonderous thing about living in CO is that tomorrow or the day after, we’ll be back in the 70′s for another couple of weeks! So I’m enjoying the snow while we’ve got it…
On Sep 21, 2009 at 9:13 pm #
Cotopaxi Chickie Sue says:Lynn, you did, thank you, and you’re right!
On Sep 21, 2009 at 9:17 pm #
Southern Chick says:Hey, around here, running into a store for milk, bread and peanut butter is grounds for a big reunion….Didn’t I see you here last year during the ONE hour we thought that we were supposed to snow, maybe? LOL What have you been doing all year since I last saw you?!?
On Sep 21, 2009 at 9:17 pm #
Southern Chick says:supposed to have snow here, maybe…ooops
On Sep 21, 2009 at 9:23 pm #
Cotopaxi Chickie Sue says:ROTFLOL Donna! The ‘Once a Year It Might Snow’ gang reunion! hahahahahahahahahaha!
On Sep 21, 2009 at 9:23 pm #
Chicky ChaCha says:Wow Sue—I finally found the pictures of the snow you have. It’s beautiful but again way too early. I’m not ready for Chickie Sue to have snoe either!!! LOL. Is it still coming down? Take good care behind the wheel. But you are a northern MN girl—I shouldn’t have to say that to you!!! LOL!
On Sep 21, 2009 at 9:26 pm #
Southern Chick says:Hey Sue! I’ve been so busy, I don’t think I’ve even picked in awhile. I wish I had time to just sit and chat, but… Is there any snow is Denver? I need to talk to my daughter. The S.Pole’s temp was a “nippy” -73 last week and Adam is has happy as a clam. what a guy!
On Sep 21, 2009 at 9:26 pm #
Valentine Chick says:I showed my husband, who LOVES snow, your pix and he said,”Does she hunt in CO?” I just laughed. He is an avid hunter and has been to CO hunting mule deer and elk several times! He definitely loves the outdoors. And if I would move out west, I know he would go in a heartbeat!
On Sep 21, 2009 at 10:03 pm #
Yorkie chick aka CC says:Sue, your pick is gorgeous. Your picture from your deck is worthy of framing.
Love the snow……..It snowed here once over 20 years ago for about an hour. Thank goodness at the time I was in Oklahoma, my parents said people were freaking out. Easy to imagine…
Defensive driving is the game plan if it even just rains here!!! I think there was a magnet that passed over most of the cars and if somebody did go to Driver’s Ed…the magnet erased all common sense and of course any skills!! LOL (And this is in North Florida!)
On Sep 22, 2009 at 1:40 am #
Cotopaxi Chickie Sue says:Donna, Denver got rain, then snow, then hail, and then it apparently cleared up. Glad Adam is enjoying all that “warm” weather at the Pole! LOL!
Valentine Chick, EVERYBODY hunts in CO! I have a rule though – no picking off my deer in the rock garden! Actually, no picking off all our local deer, since they travel around the neighborhood. I know your hubby would salivate over the 6 pt buck we had in the yard last Thanksgiving – he was gorgeous!
CC, thanks for both compliments! I will say, snow makes for interesting pics up here! I’m LOL about your 1 in 20 snow experience!! I’m just picturing it…I’ll bet the grocery store was packed! ROTFLOL!
On Sep 22, 2009 at 4:26 am #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Sue, is that the sound of you shoveling? Did you have to hitch Bandit up to the sled to haul you into town today? If you need me to ship you some TP and MREs, just let me know…..ROTFLMAO
On Sep 22, 2009 at 3:46 pm #
J Yee smart chick says:Chickies this conversation about snow and drivers and grocery stores is making me still ROTFL…
Southern chick, sure sounds like Seattle too – we talk in the grocery store AND for weeks afterwards about the quarter inch or so of snow… you should see the headlines we have been having about the “big December snow fiasco”, the City did a big investigation, partly cuz so many people were aghast that Dept of Transportation didn’t respond effectively – so turns out a high level manager had been hired because some folks liked him, despite recommendations against his being hired into that high level position – whew…
well, even a half inch of snow is enough here for us to talk for a long time about it… much less talk immediately about closing schools and offices!!!
On Sep 22, 2009 at 4:00 pm #
Deb D Grammy Chick says:Love the pick, Sue, and those pictures are awesome! Snow is one of those things I love to look at if I don’t have to go out in it. I don’t like cold (BRRRR), I don’t like to drive in it (those yahoos that were discussed earlier, and we have more than our share), and my back doesn’t like it when I shovel (ache, pain, hurt…heating pad and Tylenol)! LOL But that stuff about the stores is so true. I was behind a woman last year who had a cart loaded with nothing but milk, bread, eggs and TP (and I do mean loaded!) Either she has a family of 20 or was planning to be snowed in for the entire winter! I only went in to get milk, because I actually needed it (1/2 gallon), and stood in a very long line behind all these crazies who seemed to think that they would never be able to get essentials again! Snow seems to make people do very strange things. ROTFLOL!
On Sep 22, 2009 at 4:06 pm #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Deb, you’ve got me ROTFLOL right now!!!
On Sep 22, 2009 at 4:08 pm #
Mommykat Bubbly Chick says:I think snow is an excuse to drink hot chocolate & stay indoors – just in case Lynn is out driving
On Sep 22, 2009 at 4:12 pm #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Hardee har har, Lorrie!!!
On Sep 22, 2009 at 4:15 pm #
Mommykat Bubbly Chick says:LMAO!!!!!!!
On Sep 22, 2009 at 6:36 pm #
Valentine Chick says:That was a silly question, wasn’t it? I know he would be salivating too! Over anything…whitetail, muledeer, elk…and the list goes on!
On Sep 22, 2009 at 7:15 pm #
Cotopaxi Chickie Sue says:Well, I’ll just have to give you all an update – we had a little sunshine and about 40 degrees, so most of the snow has already melted and dried. However, as I’m getting ready to go to poker, the sky is looking like yesterday, and there’s chances we’ll get hit again!
Lorrie, my most favorite thing to do on a snow day is drink hot chocolate and read! And, from the sounds of all you fair weather drivers, probably just as well! ROTFLOL!!
