“CAS - Love Yourself In Stone”

Description from CAS: In keeping with describing yourself in a "pick" here is mine, inspired by a comment by Runs With Sibes. I'm a moon-child born in July, the ocean is a deep love of mine for I'm happiest near water, my family has given me deep roots and are my strength especially now that I'm embarking on a new path for myself (leaving nursing after 25 years), I love brignt yellows, reds and oranges (autumn in New England colors where I live), but also any shade of brown, I have very dark brown hair streaked, when I allow it to be, with gray, and dark brown-green hazel eyes behind my glasses.

CAS, I love your pick [your discription] Its great. This would make a great piece of jewelry!!!!!!!!!!!!! You’ll have to try it, if you haven’t already!!??!! Was it easier then you thought? or, harder?

A Golke – It wasn’t difficult for me at all, it all fell into place quite naturally. After 400 “picks” the only part that’s hard is deciding what size/shape of stone works best (and is still in stock).

I think it would be very interesting to see something made of any of the autobiographical picks.

Great! As another “moonchild”, born in late June, who is also never happy far from the water, I wonder how many of us there are here?

Are you retiring, or just time for a change? Will this give you more time to bead?

The idea of ‘creating yourself in stone’ is brilliant! I love all the designs in this motif… It’s a fun challenge, and I appreciate the chance to get to know each other a bit. I’m working on mine….

I’m changing careers, after 25 years of nursing I’ve burned out. I hope, of course, I’ll have lots of time to bead.

I’m starting a computer class tomorrow night (Wednesday) to increase my “marketability” as they say. I’d like to continue to work with people, being helpful, without their being sick or dieing (I’ve worked mostly with cancer patients [21 years] and the elderly [4 years]).

CAS…good luck to you on the next adventure in your life…since you were a nurse for 25 years caring for cancer patients for the majority of your career, I have to say that I think something is missing from your pic….an angel.
