    OK — We’ve got thunderstorms today, so I’ve got a killer migraine. But that’s what meds are for, right? I’m going to be babysitting my 3 granddaughters starting tomorrow for 10 days to 2 weeks out of town. My daughter is returning to work from her maternity leave & her hubby (stay-at-home dad) just had wrist surgery and can’t use his arm for awhile, so I’m going there to help. I’ll go through serious LB withdrawal!!! I’ll miss all the Chicks and the Fresh Picks — boy, will there be a lot to catch up on! Maybe LB will have their new section up & running by the time I get back.

    How are you doing? How is Amy? Is it snowing there?

    Hi Lynn, sorry to hear about your migraines…I know they can be awful. I hope they don’t bother you while you are babysitting. It sounds as though you will have your hands full; how old are your grandchildren?
    Amy has been doing okay, no seizures for about 1 1/2 weeks now. I’m doing good; I have been working a lot (which I suppose is a good thing) except I’d much rather be at home with my dogs and playing around with my creations. I got up this morning and there was snow flakes coming down. Just enough to make the dogs paws all muddy so they can track it into the house!!

    Jenna is 3 1/2 years old, Kaitlyn is almost 1 1/2 years old, and Aubrey will be 7 weeks old on Friday. They are a lot of fun, but they do keep me busy when I’m there! Luckily, son-in-law Dave won’t be (to quote him) “helpless” — he just can’t lift or support weight with that arm until cleared by the surgeon. The surgeon repaired a torn tendon and did a partial fusion of the left wrist because this was the 2nd time the tendon had torn and he didn’t want Dave to have to go through this again. Dave will have limited mobility in his wrist — luckily, it’s not his dominant hand.

    So glad to hear Amy is doing well and not having seizures (picture me knocking on wood ). Our little Shelby lets me wipe off her paws before she comes into the house, but I imagine it is more difficult with your bigger girls! LOL

    This is beautiful! I have a lidded bowl my husband found for me, blue carnival glass, that one of our neighbors was tossing out because they were moving and space was limited.
    He said he would take it, and now we have had it more than 20 years.

    Chicky LE, Sorry to hear about the migraine problem, I know how rough that can be. Both my sister and I had them while living at home. Turned out our big trigger was my dad smoking! Hopefully you will be well and enjoy the grandkids, and NOT work yourself to exhaustion. We will miss you.
    Elaine, I was glad to hear that Amy is doing well for now. It is so very hard to bear when our kids are having health issues that we cannot fix.
    My daughter says I always had an attitude of “Let me fix that.” Only some things are in God’s hands and not ours at all, a tough lesson to accept for me.
    Trip prayers for Lynn, and prayers for Amy too, being sent your way.

    Happy Chick — thanks for your migraine empathies! My biggest trigger is the weather changes and, unfortunately, I have no control over that. After that, smells (perfumes, chemicals, etc.), smoke, bright lights, too much loud noise, & certain foods trigger them. Lucky for me, no one in my family or circle of friends smokes.

    Thanks for the trip prayers — they are much appreciated! I’ll miss all the Chicks, too!
