Very BOLD, Anita! The colors are so pretty with the brass, I really like it. :)

Thank you, Cathy. Most of these stones I would never use!! Just toooo big, I’m into smaller pieces & multiple strands!

  3. Cathy H Chocolate Chick
    Cathy H Chocolate Chick says:

I’m trying to learn how to do the multiple strands – really like them. I have made a couple, but feel like I need lots more practice.

    Anita QoG Funny Chick says:

Cathy, what do you use to string with, thread or wire, fireline???

  5. Cathy H Chocolate Chick
    Cathy H Chocolate Chick says:

I have used string for the multiple strand ones because they seem to lay so much better.

  6. Anita QoG Funny Chick
    Anita QoG Funny Chick says:

I think longer ones do work better with string, but if you want them shorter, try using something like a thin wieght fireline, that’s what I used on the necklace I posted today! I like how that hangs.

Beautiful pick as usual Anita. I agree with you on the large stones. I also go for the smaller ones.

Not really. It is one of those old ladies names from way back when….I’ve never liked it much…..Evelyn.

OK, where’s the necklace? I think I’m a little behind the curve here! Would love to see your work… I’ve been trying to buy larger beads and, although I haven’t used very many, I do love the way they feel! There’s a beautiful Red Jasper puff square (30mm?)- makes a really pretty bracelet with black crystals in between and a copper toggle!

    Anita QoG Funny Chick says:

You really don’t like Evelyn? I think it’s very pretty!! All the older names are making a come back. Well then you are just going to have to be, “3K Chick”!!!

    hey funny chick,

love reading that you wouldn’t use most of those stones cuz they’re too big, I know what you mean – I too don’t tend to use the really “big” stones, I like the more “medium” sized ones and ones w/ unusual shapes like the chrysoprase leaf beads rather than “boring” rounds! :)
where did you post the pic of the necklace you made – what’s the name of that Pick??

    joyce

I learning to use the big stones as focals. It’s definitely a bolder look.
I’m working on one now with a kambaba slab, green flourite, green aventurine and silver. I find that you do have to balance out the large piece with multi stands. And that is a challenge at times to get the lengths right so it lays nicely.
