“Chiclets are for Chewing”

Description from puppychick labratbecky: I saw a few of this shape and thought they might look kinda cool together and then I had to see how many I could find that I would actually consider working with. :) I think I could combine either across rows or up and down rows. Or maybe I could just throw them all in a bowl and pick randomly. :) You decide.

Too funny. I recently used think pillows for the first time and really liked the way they looked.

I had not used the pillows yet, I have a whole bunch from my early days from the BGBM, need some inspiration, but is not coming to me, one day I will have the Eureka moment :D I just hope you will not be chewing those too pretty, not to mention the hardness ;)

Yeah, my teeth probably wouldn’t be too happy with me. :) I think what is hard about working with them is their square edges. What do you put between beads? How do you make them not look like something is missing?

    Julie Shane says:

They DO look like chicklets! I bought the lapis and they are a really pretty “denim” color.
When I use this shape I like square/box spacers or a 4 sided heishi. These rectangle beads need something angular, not round.

Yum yum yum I wanna shew through the whole pick! I have some strands in this “pillow shape”, of course I love them.

Either way you choose, up and down or side to side would look good ! I like column four the best! ;)

I agree with MaryLou- column four does it for me!! Clever pick, Becky!

I’ve seen a necklace made with these and what was between them.was the larger seed bead. So there was a definite difference between the 2 sizes

What a thought – - would never have pictured these as chewing gum ! But the colors you picked are magnificent. And you have picked a good size, too. I fell in love with the ruby crazy lace agate and order the large size and couldn’t figure out what to do with them. Sent them back in exchange for the smaller size. The 18 x 13 worked great – - used spacers on each side and 6 or 8 mm round beads in between. Try it, you’ll like it !

I was reading these in rows, but the columns are yummy, too. Ah. So many choices. Really fun and creative pick!

  13. OK Jacki
    OK Jacki says:

Fun pick! Thought provoking and you did a great job of matching the color intensities down the columns. I’m in love with the purple & green rows, however, They’d be my pick. I have several of these shapes…you, and everyone’s ideas on this pick give inspiration…perhaps I’ll pull them outta the bead stash this weekend. :-)
