Description from Cuban Queen Crazy Chick: I just picked up these great little vase-shaped white porcelain beads that are painted with blue Chinese-style designs. I am pairing them with cobalt-blue glass beads and silver spacers as an accent.

I tried to stray from my usual pattern – normally I prefer big, bold, chunky necklaces and I’m usually very symmetrical in my designs so I decided to do something different. It ended up looking very different from how I originally pictured it, but I still have some of those vase beads so I think I’ll try another style with them. How’s everything with you? I think I read on one of the picks that you got some of that olive fire agate. I just got mine the other day. I like it but I have to admit it looks a little brighter on the site. What do you think?

CAS says:Hi Ivy, it’s a really funny green, it totally depends on what you pair it with. Put the Olive Fire Agate with yellow or yellow under-toned pieces, and it will “pop” I promise. Put it with anything with blue under-tones, and it disappears into the background. It depends if you want it to be a focal color or a background color.
You did manage some symmetry in your necklace, though I’m sure you didn’t realize it. If you break your necklace down into “vignettes” (individual design groups within a larger design) as Debbi calls them, you’ll see that you did manage symmetry of bead size.
