I know the feeling, Chicky! I do like it. I like that green snakeskin – used that in my mom’s b-day present. it’s fantastic with aqua blues.

Oh…I have a snake story! About 2 years ago, I was hiking with some of my family, and I was way ahead of them. As I was walking I noticed a long black “stick” about a yard or two away from me. I was going to pick it up to move it (I thought it was a stick, and it was sooo still). When I was reaching down it slithered away! And it was about 3 1/2 feet long! Eeewwwww gross!

Love the rutilated quartz! Lots of snakes in my garden, too. Once I opened the shed to get my son’s bike for him, and there was a baby rattler all coiled up on the seat of the bike. I closed that door in a hurry!

Ok, here’s my snake story. I was hiking an I strayed off the path into an area they were trying to let regrow. I wasn’t looking where I was going and as I was about to put my foot down I heard a rattle! I looked down and saw what looked like a rattle snake where I was about to put my foot! I jumped back and the snake lunged at my foot!! Thank GOD it missed!!! I stayed on the path for the rest of the hike!!

rattler? oh my gosh – you’re in florida?

last spring, preparing one of the planting beds, I yanked on some old dead stuff and there was a shedded snake skin on the old dried branch…. that was enough for me to take a break for a little bit.

    oh my gosh, Kitty!
I was visiting one of the bosques near albuquerque – the paths were distinctly marked – do not go off the paths, snakes. I saw this – did not mean to disregard, but something caught my curiosity – a plant – I went to go look at it and realized I was off the path – I cannot imagine the high stepping dance that I did back to the path!

    Smoky, nope, it was Colorado.
    Snake skins crepe me OUT!
I’m SO glad you didn’t meet with anything slithery that day!!

  16. Smoky Rose
    Smoky Rose says:

so sorry, Kitty – I’m trying to keep everybody straight. yeah, totally creap me out too. tell ya – are we ready for another story????? My dentist used to be down the block from this big time pet shop in the Philly area – ..legendary. So, I’d always make it a point to get there early and walk down the block to the reptilorium…. and look at the snakes and lizards. I was thinking maybe I could condition myself not to be so repulsed if I saw them often enough – nope, didn’t work, I’d go home after every appt and have a snake nightmare…
