“Creek Glass”

Description from Mary S AKA Sweet Chick: Some of you ladies have talked about finding 'Sea Glass' on the beach.
With all the rain we've been having bits of glass are getting washed up in the creek by our house. I have found brown glass, pieces of old blue canning jars and one piece I found this week is a milky aqua blue/green color. Now I need to find out how to use it in a piece of jewelry. I could possibly wire wrap it some how. Any other suggestions?

And thank you Lilly for the Vintaj suggestion! Why didn’t I think of that? I’ve used Vintaj to wrap pieces before. I think I had in mind wrapping with copper because of the color of the glass but I believe Brass will work too!!

Pretty pretty pick, cool creek glass!! I have a pair of seaglass earrings I got in Maine. They drilled a little hole in the top of 2 similiar peices for earrings. I have a larger peice that was wire wrapped as a pendant. I’ve seen pieces wrapped around small riftwood peices wire wrapped with seed beads used for Christmas Ornaments….

I have not made anything with the ‘creek’ glass yet. I’ll let you know up front that I am chronic procrastinator! Some day it will hit me and I’ll know exactly what I want to do with it. Until then, it’s just patiently waiting for me.

Hmmm, I just read an article on this somewhere. Might have been the newest “Art Jewelry” magazine, (8/09) which I cannot now find…
depending on shape and size could look great with the vintage, can’t lose with a nice wrap either.
