    Good morning!
Not sure why the rest of you are up so early. (unless Lynn hasn’t gone to bed yet – LOL) I had to take Larry to the train station at 6.

    Very pretty colors, Jill!
when do you go back to school?

I know… I go back Sept. 8 and the kids start on the 9th. But our first grade team has been meeting to rearrange our rooms and plan for a different approach to reading workshop.
The custodians were shaking their heads as we moved furniture around yesterday.

Yea…. I get the bug around the 3rd week of Aug. Everyone is in there getting their rooms put together. I have two new rooms to set up!! Arrgh!!!!!! It takes sooooo long!!!

    Why two rooms, Jill?

We wanted to go in before they waxed the floors so we could drag the furniture around. Then the head custodian will sketch the new arrangement and set it up when they’re done. I really wasn’t ready to go in.

Sure feels that way! This is way earlier than I’ve ever gone back in. we’re only half-way through our summer. We usually don’t go back before labor day.

Glad I was NOT up early enuf to watch the dawn, but this is a very pretty pick. :-)

Hard to believe summer is already winding down. One of the things I hate about school time is how many colds and other illnesses the kids catch and bring home to share with us. :-(
I have really enjoyed having my grandaughter healthy this summer. ;)

Getting ready for the new school year….Oh what memories that conjures up. Jill what subject do you teach that has you working in two schools? In the last school district where I taught before coming to California I spent one year traveling between two elementary schools. I had over 1000 students a week for art classes. I spent most of that year up to my eyebrows in paper. Luckily I only had to do 6 lesson plans a week.

Jill, such a lovely Pick for the early morning – so fun to see all the chat about when several of you start school again soon. It sure seems to vary from state to state – the public schools and University of Hawaii in Hawaii started classes at the end of August. In Seattle the secondary schools begin just after Labor day but teachers like yourselves start a few weeks earlier setting up classrooms. Our colleges usually begin the last week of September, my school begins the first weekend of October. Wishing all of you a grat rest of your vacation till school starts up again! :)

Well…. I am the Gifted Enrichment Teacher. They are cutting my position back to part-time so that I can also do Literacy Coaching.
