Elis Mom says:They ARE pretty, aren’t they? Love the color inthis pick Becky!

OK Jacki says:They are all pretty, but the Sky Blue, I think is stunning. Great pick!

Mary S - Sweet Chick says:I agree! Pretty, pretty stones, even if they are dyed. I used to be a natural stone “snob” but Lima has been converting me to things “other than natural”.
Beautiful collection here, Becky!

Luna Chick aka Coral says:Ditto what everyone else has said!!

puppychick labratbecky says:Me too, the stone snob comment.
I will still be that way for a lot of things but dyed agates have an otherworldliness the way you can look inside them and see the colored structural elements of the stone itself. thanks for the love!

Stone Treasures says:Lovely! Agree! Usually don’t like dyed stones but some certainly do grab you!

N radon says:I love agates too! I love looking at the different layers of stone in agates -and the dyes really pick up layers you might not notice if it’s “au natural’. I really enjoy rockhounding and seeing how forces shape stones in certain areas with the minerals and cooling blah blah It’s just a fun thing for our family.

Batticat says:I like natural stones also. But these are beautiful. It makes sense the dye would bring out the pattern. Do you have to soak dyed stones before using them? I also like the sea green ones in the top row “Ocean Blue”. Not all on the strand seem to be that color though.

N radon says:I haven’t had any beads from Lima with excess dye on them. But got a strand of gemstones once from a beadstore that left red on my hands. I just gave them a gentle wash with a mild soap and they were good to go!
On May 06, 2012 at 12:29 pm #
puppychick labratbecky says:Batticat: the ocean blue ones did not all pick up the dye. It must be part of the chemical composition that caused that. They are still really cool if you use them together because they have a whole range of natural colors along with the dye.

Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Becky, this is a gorgeous pick — love those agates & the Czech glass colors really accentuate them beautifully!
