Deco Chick Elaine says:You hunted down some pretty eggs :>) first you hide them, then I’ll hide them, lol……

OK Jacki says:Bring on the Egg Hunt, LB! Can’t wait! Nice pick, also.
On Mar 12, 2012 at 5:14 pm #
Luna Chick aka Coral says:I have heard so much about the hunt (both good and bad) I cannot wait to see how it works. Thanks for building up the excitement. Great pick Maria!

Mary S - Sweet Chick says:LOL! I can’t decide if I’m ready for Egg Hunt 2012 or not.
Great pick in anticipation of the annual hunt!

Stone Treasures says:Ready for it! Bring it on! Adorable pick.

Elis Mom says:Fun pick! So…..what’s the egg hunt all about?
On Mar 12, 2012 at 10:39 pm #
OK Jacki says:the only thing more fun than picking…the egg hunt. It’s free, (somewhat) competitive, addictive, and there’s prizes. What more can we ask for?

Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:EEEEEEEEK!!!
(runs screaming from the room, only to return to finish this comment….LOL)
I’m not sure if I’m ready, either! So much to do first — cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, stocking the freezer with easy-to-cook meals. Oh, and spending some extra time with Hubby now so he won’t feel quite so neglected later….
You “Egg Hunt Rookies” have absolutely NO idea how all-encompassing this will become for you!!! Very addictive!
8O I started out with the First Annual Infamous Easter Egg Hunt of 2009 and each year I swear I’ll never do it again!!! LOL Well, here I sit, gearing up for another round….

OK Jacki says:You GO GIRL!

Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Susie, the Easter Egg Hunt was started in 2009 by Lima Beads as part of an evil plot to chain us to our computers, while enticing us to purchase more and more beads! LOL
Just kidding, LB!
Actually, it is a fun (though it truly is time-consuming) way to learn more about the site and make lots of new friends. Way back in 2009, there was NO Garden or Design Gallery (shock — believe it or not!) and we were forced to make friends the old-fashioned way — via the comments on the Fresh Picks. LOL
LB’s team (usually Matt) hides Easter eggs all over the site (deeper than one can possibly imagine) and we have to find them and click on them. LB keeps a running total for each of us (the eggs can be found by anyone who finds them, not just one person, so keep searching!). Each time you find one, a page comes up that lists how many you’ve found. If you “re-find” one — believe me, it’s easy to forget if you’ve already clicked on one — it says on that same page that you’ve already found that one. After a set number is found, a person earns a prize, similar to other contests LB has had, which increases in value as more eggs are found. I find it helpful to keep a notepad by my computer to record where I’ve already found an egg — it saves time in searching the site.
When LB announces the hunt, they’ll show us what an egg looks like (they all look the same) and how many to search for. The first year we searched for 16. The next year they tortured — I mean, challenged — us with 100. Last year, there were around a million, or did it just seem that way?!?!?!
;) There was also a leaderboard added, so searchers with the most eggs were listed on it, along with their totals. Of course, people would get bumped off the board and then would try to work their way back on.
Although it IS super-addictive — you’ll tell yourself too many times that you’ll stay up and find “JUST ONE MORE EGG” before bedtime — HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA), it really IS a lot of fun!
Good luck and God bless all who choose to participate!
Now watch — LB will change around everything I’ve just written!!! Yikes!

Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Good grief! Was that just about the longest comment ever written?!?!?!
On Mar 12, 2012 at 11:57 pm #
franny says:love the colours in this pick & Lynn Eileen, loved your explanation! I think I’ll need to hide or go camping – my family are already monitoring my visits to LB – yes it is a marketing conspiracy but sounds like hilarious fun – OK, I’ll take just a peak
On Mar 13, 2012 at 12:15 am #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Ah, “just a peak” — That’s how it all starts…..
LOL

NY Bella says:Lynn, you explained it so well that now I’m really getting stressed….I participated 2x since I found this fab site and you are right! It is addictive! So I’m getting by Vitamin B12 pills ready! LOL
I thought this pick would stir up some emotions….
On Mar 13, 2012 at 3:16 pm #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Ooooh — I forgot about vitamins! Thanks, Maria!
I also forgot to mention what a great pick this is!
On Mar 13, 2012 at 3:34 pm #
J Yee smart chick says:Maria, thank you – even as I say to Lynn, “You’re right about this infamous LB easter egg contest – 8O… ” many of us have spent way too many hours searching this site for the lil’ critters –
– present company included, of course!

Elis Mom says:Bring it on! Sounds like a TON of fun! Thanks, Lynn, for the tutorial!

Stone Treasures says:Lynn, what a great essay on the ‘egg hunt’! It introduced me to lima bead and all it had to offer last year. I love puzzle challenges and did well last year. Set my goals a bit higher this year!

Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Here’s a bit of trivia for you.
Believe it or not, I have carpal tunnel syndrome in my right hand/wrist — my dominant side!!! I had surgery to repair the same problem in my left hand/wrist last June and am now facing the same thing with the right one!!! My neurologist told me the damage is “severe” and to contact the hand surgeon who successfully fixed the first one. Sigh. I’d better wait until AFTER the Infamous Egg Hunt of 2012 or I’ll need to have it redone!!! Yikes!
I haven’t been able to do much jewelry creating because it is hard to grip the tools. Been doing a lot of work with Stretch Magic, though!
Of course, in NO WAY do I hold Lima Beads responsible for my condition…..
LOL!
On Mar 13, 2012 at 6:47 pm #
Eeka Mouse says:Lynn, nothing will deter you… If tour carpel tunnel flares, I picture you, late at night, hunting for eggs by tapping the keys w/a pencil griped tightly in you teeth!

On Mar 13, 2012 at 10:28 pm #
Elis Mom says:You could use your toes, too!
On Mar 14, 2012 at 11:43 am #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Hey, great idea, Susie! Perhaps I should start practicing now!!!
