Description from J Yee smart chick: inspired by the lovely new keshi pearl strands here, and that I saw at a bead show this weekend... I made a bracelet and necklace recently w/ rainbow fluorite, some lavender and light copper pearls...
and a necklace w/ rainbow fluorite and crazy lace... been feeling kinda "spacy" lately on and off, I figured the two stones would help cuz rainbow fluorite helps mental abilities (crown chakra) and agates and jaspers are earth stones... :)

Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Joyce, what a beautiful pick! I love the combination in it and the title made me laugh out loud!!!
After I read your description, I thought, “What a great idea!” Be sure to let us know if you find that it helps you — seriously. I’ve never done anything like that with crystals or special stones and have always wondered if it helped. How long does it take or is this your first attempt? Just curious to learn more…..

J Yee smart chick says:Thank you for all of your very kind comments, I greatly appreciate it!
Lynn, this isn’t my first attempt at working with crystals and gemstones. Indeed I do have a fav lariat necklace w/ lots of earthy agates, jaspers, Mother of pearl, copper, wood beads, when I wear it I do usually feel more grounded and inspired.
I also have a lovely blue lace agate turtle pendant, blue lace agate is supposed to help bring a sense of calm, and also helps w/ the throat chakra, giving voice to what we want to say…
Yes, I will share pics, just gotta get to a scanner! I made my necklace with two strands of silk thread, one strand is lavender and the other is pale green. It was fun to actually use that lovely copper wild rose filigree pendant, it’s been “talking to me” saying to put it into a piece of jewelry!

Leslie W Mtn Chick says:Smart Chick, please be careful about the “spacey” feeling because it could be attributed to a drug reaction, interaction, or unfortunately, to a poisoning attempt in a drink, food, or illegal drug taken. I do not know you at all so I am just speaking from my own knowledge. Bless you.

J Yee smart chick says:Thank you for the comments, sure appreciate it!
Gemstone beads, rocks and crystals have always fascinated me, esp those w/ any type of banding pattern, changes from one mineral to another, or one color to another – this is why I tend to love agates, jaspers, rhodocrosite and rainbow fluorite…
Leslie W Mtn chick, thanks for your cautions regarding possible drug reaction/interaction or food/drink poisoning… I do hope it’s not any of the above – I am a “typical” grad student who both works part time and goes to school part time. One of my ongoing challenges is chronic insomnia which leaves me feeling really tired and run down.
A friend gave me an herbal tincture which she had made up for others awhile ago that will boost my immune system. I have chronic allergies year round so that also tends to make me feel tired also.
Self care is an area that I try to remain mindful of: eating regularly, sleeping regularly, getting exercise… along with regular social time w/ friends, and having some “down time” every day, usually at night…

Leslie W Mtn Chick says:I remember the stress of working and going to grad school… Allergy Research, a mail order company, has a potent antioxidant vitamin which helped me after my body was stressed from childbirth. Perhaps that website might help you. I found that I needed more than homeopathic and organic foods to improve my immune system, but I was successful eventually. I had a friend who ended up in the hospital because she had a severe reaction to homeopathic medicine she was given to help her chronic allergies. Be very careful!!! Don’t rule out simple viral infections such as herpes, as it does respond well to certain mainstream drugs. I don’t know much about chronic insomnia. Bless you again!

K H says:I like those little packets of vitamin B&C complex that you mix with 4-6 oz of water. The other day I was feeling totally exhusted and caffined out and definately not firing on all 8 cyliners. I mixed up one of those and in less than 20 min. the fog totally lifted and the caffine jitters were gone. The chiropractor recommended it as part of my treatment plan when recovering from a bad whiplash injury. It comes in a number of good flavors. I like the raspberry and the pink lemonade the best.

J Yee smart chick says:Leslie, thank you very much for your informative comments. My friend who gave me the herbal tincture was trained by her grandmother a shaman, who taught her from when she was a little girl about the healing properties of plants and herbs.
KH, are those packets of B & C vitamin those “emergency” vitamin ones that come several to a box? Will look for those too.
Trying to address the underlying lack of balance in my life is my focus – I’m trying to get out of that vicious cycle in which due to lack of sleep and feeling run down, I resort to sources of caffeine such as coffee. I have tried an energy drink called yerba mate that Tully’s has but also have to watch my intake of that one too – too much of any stimulant just leads to too much of a “big crash” after the effects wear off.
