Cuban Queen Crazy Chick says:I love the cover art of all the Putumayo CDs but there’s just something about the girl’s brown skin, black hair, and purple flower…

Cuban Queen Crazy Chick says:Thanks DD and Jeanne! I’m not sure how this would translate into jewelry, but it makes for a good painting.

Jeannes Gems - Gem Chick says:necklace? let’s see – the lilac teardrop as a pendant (of course) with gold wire or bail. I’m thinking about an inch of brown on either side, then the buttercup connector, something purple, maybe another connector and more brown….
I usually just play with the beads, but maybe I should start sketching. I know some of you do. Also – I tend to be very symmetrical.
On May 30, 2009 at 1:48 pm #
Cuban Queen Crazy Chick says:Thank you Joyce and Jeanne! Thanks for the ideas, Jeanne. I tend to be kinda symmetrical in my designs, too, I’m trying to force myself out of the habit, even if only temporarily.
On May 30, 2009 at 1:58 pm #
J Yee smart chick says:what a fun discussion regarding designs being symmetrical… I tend to be the opposite myself so that’s why I often make designs like lariats which have some “room” for being asymmetrical… either way whether you make a symmetrical necklace or not the stones and connectors all work really well together, love Jeanne’s suggestions about the lilac teardrop as your pendant then w/ the brown on either side, a flower connector then purple… what about mixing the colors together a bit… have some mono colored sections and some where the colors are mixed…
separated by the flower connectors…

Jeannes Gems - Gem Chick says:That sounds like a great idea, Joyce – to mix colors in some parts. It would tie them together nicely. This is hard for me to do without the physical stones.
