“Fancy Nancy”

Description from Beadzilla aka Wanda: This is what I was thinking might go good with the sodalite Nancy. But it is a personal preference when it comes to something you are making, and wearing for yourself. I just added the dragonfly for fun!

This is a great set of choices for Nancy to mull about. I like some of these so much I am going to “borrow” this FP for my own languishing sodalite collection. :)

I love your ideas. I’m torn so I may go with two types. One with more dark blue basically with silver, etc. and another with more browns.

I have smokey quartz and could just complement the quartz with some sodalite. And I’d use brass with this. Thanks for all the inspiration. Wanda… I’ll be emailing you tomorrow.

and use my champagne crystal with the dark blue – I have a bunch I want to use up.

I’m trying to get my stash pared down in case I move. I talked to a friend at church who is a realtor and she says don’t rent, buy a place that is more suited to my needs. She says I have plenty of equity left to do that.

I like my house so much but there’s too much work to do – yard work in particular. I can’t keep up with housework let alone in the yard.

My back is getting worse. I have to see a cardiologist about some ticker issues as well. I just want to play with my furbabies and my beads. I’m 73 and think I’ve earned it. :)

    You have earned it! :)

My mom is 10 years older than you, and she is really slowing down lately. Not the spring chick anymore, like I remember :(

I know how you feel Nancy. The gardens take a toll. Spare yourself and scale down. The Bible says keep a simple eye, and it has served my family well.

Also this is a wonderful pick!

Great pick, Wanda – - especially like all the Czech glass you chose to go with the sodalite. And Nancy, you definitely deserve to “retire”. Locate where you want to be and downsize to simple. Take lots of photos of the house you’ve loved and move on – - – doubt that you’ll miss all the upkeep !

I really like the turbines with the sodalite. They may not be the exact color, but they “go” so well! :)

Nancy, Take the advice from your personal friends and you LB friends. Get a place that needs minimal upkeep and then spend your time enjoying life. Your furbabies and beads are much more important than dust. Yes. You deserve it!!! :)

  9. Granny Nancy
    Granny Nancy says:

Hey – thanks for all the advice. I’ve talked with a realtor and she says I have enough equity to buy something else rather than rent. She doesn’t advise renting “yet.” She’ll be a big help. Her hubby is my carpenter/painter. He was laid up for a while from heart surgery but is lookin’ good now… especially for a man of 75.

I down sized big time when we moved from NY to the sunny south. But its time to do it again. Mostly in regard to not having a yard to take care of.

    Love my friends here! :)

Oh and when it comes to dust, doesn’t bother me a bit. Besides, my vision isn’t all that great – can’t see it anyway.

    :) :)

Regarding dust — If it isn’t deep enough for someone to write the date in it, I don’t worry about it! LOL ;)

Wanda, this is such a gorgeous combo of colors & shapes for Nancy to consider! I plan to “borrow” your ideas to try myself! I have lots of sodalite, but get tired of only pairing it with whites. Thanks for the suggestions! :D

    Nancy I hope this helped.

Wanda, I missed this one . . . I started a new job so have little time to check the site like I did for a while. This pick is GORGEOUS! Definitely will go in my fav file!
