Great pick, commemorating one of my favorite ‘wild’ veggies – the fiddlehead fern. YUM! Just like the components your pick. I ‘need’ all those seed beads AND the Unicorne tear drops!

Don`t think I have ever had a fiddlehead. Gorgeous pick Asia!

How do you cook fiddlehead? Anyway this pick is delicious to look at. Gourmet for the eyes!

The fiddleheads are picked in early spring (which is around Mother’s Day here in mid-Maine, LOL). They have just come up out of the ground and are still tightly furled, with some of the ‘papery’ covering (which is one of their distinguishing features) still over their ‘heads’.
After harvesting, they should be soaked in water (I use a bit of table salt in the water) to encourage any freeloaders to vacate, so to speak. Then, they can be steamed (my favorite way) or sautéed, or, even pickled! I was given my first jar of pickled fiddleheads this year, and boy, are they YUMMY!

    Straight to FAV!!!
These colors are so pretty. I’m not sure if I like the Aloe or the Moss beads better. :)

Love this yummy pick! I hadn’t noticed that the ammonite looked like fiddleheads. Our favorite way to eat them is in a stir-fry. :D

Thanks a lot, never had fiddleheads yet, but I’m making a necklace with most of the beads here :D

I have never heard of fiddleheads nor eating ferns. So we are learning some thing new all the time here. There are several new (to me) beads that I’d love to have. Congratulations on your POD.
