Description from Debbi aka Sparkle Chick: Huge fire in our neighborhood today...very sad to know that a family has lost their possessions...one person sustained a leg injury jumping out the 2nd story window.
Thank goodness there was no loss of life.

please do give the family my condolences if you can, so sad to lose everything to a huge fire, makes me sure appreciate all that I have even more… including what can’t be replaced, our lives and relationships with each other! I’m very thankful to hear that everyone in the family was unhurt, even though it’s now going to be quite challenging for them to figure out what to do on lots of levels…

We have lived in this neighborhood for 17 years and this is the first fire.
Very scary, that’s for sure.
In our neighborhood we have a Heights League “newsletter”…I am sure there will be one brought around in the next few days letting all of us in the “Heights” know what we can do and what the family needs.

Elaine aka Belly Chick says:I can’t imagine having everything go in a fire; I think it is my worst fear. We live in an old house and sometimes I wonder if the wiring is okay and I worry about our two dogs being there alone if something like that should happen. We had a lot of fires in our town lately and it is spooking a lot of people; some arson and some accidental.

It was a house that had character…but, it was only a house…I watched the local news tonight…Seven people lived there. Four were taken to the hospital with smoke inhalation in addition to the one man who jumped out of the 2nd story window…
I know this neighborhood will step up to the plate to help in any way we can.
After all,it’s the people in our lives that matter, not the things we have.
