You’re correct that it can be difficult to know for sure, since we’re not present at the factory when the rough is cut, but we do whatever due diligence we can on our stones and we only work with sources we trust. We’ve dropped a lot of suppliers over the years for not being forthcoming about the nature of their products.
Regarding more product information on our site, this is one of our BIG priorities for early next year, so stay tuned for that.
