Smoky Rose says:shucks…. honestly, my brother asked me to make him a rosary….. any stone I wanted. I chose Pietersite (not these exact, of course – uniform 6mm rounds) – and it works, it could go masculine easily – and his name is Peter.

Smoky Rose says:I got the crucifix, chain, etc from FMG. It is a lot of intricate hand work – that’s why I couldn’t pull it off last spring. I’m relatively new to beading. I tried, but ended up apologizing and purchasing a rosary for my nephew for his First Holy Communion. If you’re better with nice little loops than I am, go for it! I read where they should be opposite to prevent kinking – ie: (if you know all this, forgive me) on E side of bead, loop would be vertical – on W side of bead, loop would be horizontal.

My dad makes rosaries. He and Mom have made over 20,000. All kinds, chain rosaries, knotted, string(for the missions).
I’ve got to practise making wire loops too. Not very good at it. But what I really want to get good at is wrappped loops. I know at lot of you beaders are able to make beautiful ones. I need
a good class to take. Just none here in this rural area.
