My mom used to tell stories about gathering eggs on her folks’ farm… getting pecked…she did not like chickens after that. :P
Really nice peck, I mean pick. LOL :-)

Love the pick, Little Chick! Fresh brown farm eggs are the best!

I loved gathering the eggs @ my aunt & uncle’s farm. Was a tiny bit scary, since she warned to look for snakes in the nest first – but I loved the feel of the warm eggs in my hand.

Thanks girls!!!!!!! When I gather eggs the only pecker would be the rooster…I’ve learned to stay away from him!!!

My Great-grandpa had a dairy farm (passed down in the family to my Mom’s cousin), but also had chickens. My Nana tells stories about hunting for eggs.

Not a great picture (photocopy) of my Great-grandpa on his tractor. In the corner is one of his milk top labels.

The rooster is protecting his harem. I used to collect eggs when I was your age too. I also lived on a farm and I sure miss it. Chickens, roosters, ducks, geese, cows, pigs, horses, dogs, cats and even a pet fox. LOL. Thanks for the memories. Nice pick, Little Chick.

Thanks 3k!!!!!! He just seems to attack girls, not boys :( and also goes after me when I’m just taking care of bunnies…oh well, he’s pretty! ;)

Lovely pick, Little Chick! Love the choice of the white pearls for your eggs!

Hubby’s grandfather was a dairy farmer, too. They had cows, chickens, etc. We have 2 of his glass milk bottles with his name in the glass that we’ve managed to locate via E-bay and antique shows. They were in Wisconsin and we’re in Indiana, but we look wherever we find glass milk bottles! :D
