Yummy, yummy! I love the thin pillow shape, and your pick is so cute E. Can I ask what your 1st name is? I’m CAS, Chicky Babe or Christine, depending on mood.

Hello to everyone, glad to be here…well maybe not, I know I’m gonna spend way too much money! CAS, the picture I have is in memory of our faithful old dog Alex, who we had to put down last year due to cancer. On an good note, we do have two new dogs now. They are great ~ Zula and Shelby! Thanks again everyone for the very warm welcome ~ this is wonderful! :-)

You know what the scary thing is (and I hate to admit this to everyone) but I’m not really even a beader; I am usually creative with other types of materials but I’m hooked now. I think I’ll have to quit work because I have too many hobbies! Oh, wait…I don’t think my husband would go for that…haha!

I’m pretty new to beading too, Elaine.
My education was in other applied arts – never once thought about jewerly – I’m a bit of a rock hound – belong to a society, been on rock collecting field trips… A few years ago I read about jewelry making classes being held at the local vo-tech school – thought ‘cool!’ – signed up. they called me the day before they were to start – cancelled – this went on and on 3 times! – no classes. I was in Michaels one day looking for a frame for a print. There was a lady there beading – I circled her a few times and finally approached and said that I wanted to learn – she asked me if I could knit or crochet – I said just only a little. It seemed like she wanted to discourage me – but I signed up anyway. From the first class I knew I was hooked. I drove home that night smiling – ran up the steps to where my husband was working on some carpentry in the attic and couldn’t wait to show him the bracelet I made! Found Lima maybe a year ago, looking for…maybe rainbow obsidian beads on the internet. I looked and then left – came back after the first of this year and haven’t left. It’s a really cool thing!
Yikes! I get on these chatty rolls… sorry.

Oh I know what you mean Mary, I get obsessed with one form of creativity or another; get all the supplies; then find another hobby ~ pretty soon I’m going to have to start living under a bridge because I’m running out of room! The nice thing about beads is they don’t take up as much room as fabric (I know, I have a room full of that) and you’d be surprised at how much space yarn and crochet cotton take up! There for awhile I was crocheting with big sequins called pailettes for some of my costumes; the pic is one of my first creations and still one of many favorites! It’s amazing what a person can come up with by just knowing the basics! (Sorry, not very good picture quality.)

The costume is phenomenal. I crochet – mostly baby blankets and afghans. Something to do in the car, at meetings, when I’m watching tv.
ps – the pick is adorable!
