More about Green Conglomerate Jasper
Our green conglomerate Jasper gemstone beads are a mix of dark forest and moss greens, with a hint of yellow-green. The bold pattern on these unique stones really stands out!
A conglomerate is a sedimentary rock that is composed of individual rounded pebbles that have become cemented together by silica, calcite, or iron oxides (if the fragments that are cemented together are angular, the stone is called a breccia). Conglomerate forms when a pebbled beach or riverbed fills with mud and sand and becomes buried under other materials. Over a long period of time, the weight of the material compresses the sand, mud and rock mix into a solid, conglomerate rock.
