Description from Dee Dee Short Chick: Some of you might remember the story "Green Mansions" about a girl who was raised in a lush rainforest. Her name was "Riva", and she was gentle and vulnerable, yet strong,but she knew nothing of the outside world. In the movie version she was played by Audrey Hepburn. This reminds me of her gentleness and her strength.

My bedroom in my childhood home was up on the second floor, which was more like a 3rd floor because of the way the house sat on the lot – lower yard in the back than the front. The trees grew up to my windows. When I looked out any window, all I saw was green! I was fascinated with birds and the thought of being able to communicate with them. When I was not in my room, mooning out the windows, I was climbing trees! Always in a treetop somewhere. I thought almost no one else had even heard of the book, much less read it!!
How cool!!
