Thanks…he has a rough time that his birthday is on 9-11; not a happy day for our country and families who have suffered so….we will never forget that day and trying to celebrate our son’s day watching the horror…prayers today…

Amen to that….thanks, Chicky…he was 15 the day it actually happened…a tough age…he talked for a month prior to that day that we were going to take him to go and get his driving permit on his birthday…instead the day brought disaster…a perspective to what is really important in life…he actually says now that he grew up so much that day…that some things (like driving) that he thought was so important is nothing to having family and friends and faith in our lives…

and turning 15 should be a bright milestone of a day, not a lesson learned…It’s amazing the things that mold us into what we grow up to be. When the realization of family being the most important people in our lives hits us, I think that is the moment we truly grow up. Some at younger ages than others…(which may be beneficial to the parents). (I put my mom through you know what until that realization hit.)

We all have those milestones…it sounds so silly, but I had ordered a “cookie” cake at the mall to be picked up in the afternoon that day…the mall shut down early…couldn’t get it…the groceries had closed..I finally found a place that had a cake I purchased…it was kind of girly…my twins were away in their freshman yr of college and were terrified and couldn’t come home…we sang HB with the TV off…but could hardly eat..though we all tried…we just hugged and moved on as best we could…I always told our kids daily from the day they were born how much I (we)loved them…many expressions of love were shared that day…personally and throughout our country, I am sure…

I remember just wanting to go get my kids and go home and hug them in a huddle. My kids were so young, 2 & 4 and didn’t understand what was happening. I’m kind of glad for that.
