“Happy Daze”

Description from Julie Shane: This pick started with the Unicorne happy daze beads that have been sitting around forever and begging to be used. Nearly everything I look at seems to over power them or fade into the background.

Good question, Julie. Maybe instead of looking into the same color family you should try the opposite, just wondering what color ate the squiggles on the beads that might be your answer :D

  2. Deb Harding
    Deb Harding says:

Just from looking at the photos here I would say your beloved bronzite would be the answer. But its hard to tell on a tiny phone screen.

  3. NY Bella
    NY Bella says:

I like Asia idea of going with an opposite color palette. The bronzite idea of Deb is a good one too! How about using a metal accent ( brass) instead of color. Good luck, Julie. I’m sure you’ll get inspired soon!!

  4. MaryKay K
    MaryKay K says:

Yeah, going with complementary colors was my first thought. Maybe bronze or antique brass as a metal?

So bright and sunny. Perfect for an overcast day like today.

Cheerful pick! To balance the happy daze beads, but I think I’d go dark–bronzite would be a good start. Maybe dull silver/pewter as accents? Congrats on POD.

Congrats on your POD, Julie – - agree with several of the others’ comments that contrast would be good. Maybe both in color and finish, like gray or black recycled glass. Let the Unicorne beads really be the star – - -

Congrats on POD Julie! I love these Unicorne beads but they can be hard to use. What is the dark color in this bead? On my monitor it looks navy blue? If so, that would be an awesome color combo!

Hi everyone. What a surprise. This was the “first” attempt and then I made a second Fresh Pick with the Unicorne beads that focused on blue as a complement. I created the bracelet and it’s in the Design Gallery.

Unfortunately, I’m crazy about a few of the other beads in this combo… so my bag runneth over!

Paula, I like the idea of the grey or black matte recycled glass! Great contrast.
Gail, Yep. The swirls are dark blue. There are tiny bubbles of medium blue too.
MaryKay, I tried the bronzite (one of my FAV stones) but there was too much blue.

The accent color is blue? Looks brown in the picture. How about the matte slate shell beads?
