   Harriet, I totally agree with you & Joyce about the stores putting out the seasonal items way too early. It’s fine to have a few things available for people who need to start early on holiday projects/gifts, but come on, people, it’s not even Labor Day!!!

   If LB has their Easter egg hunt over Thanksgiving this year, that’s it for me. LOL

   Actually, I use things “cross seasonally” (is that a real word?), so I wouldn’t care if they left the holiday displays up 24/7/365. I use lights in wine bottles and in special floral arrangements and table swags all year long. I am decorating for a dinner party this weekend and I am using glittery gold feathers to accent pots of fern. Now, on the other hand, the mall decorators don’t need to put up the trees and Santa huts and Menorahs until along about Thanksgiving.

   The things you mentioned are the same things I meant that I thought would be fine, because some people do what you said, KH, and others like to do their holiday crafting and gift making throughout the year. It’s the huge displays that you refer to that I get really tired of by Halloween when they put them up now! LOL

   I know what you meant. On the other hand, over the weekend I showed MIL several beading projects and mentioned that some were going to be Christmas presents, and I thought she was going to have a stroke – like thinking ahead is downright shameful.

    I agree with the above. And the fall is in my pick only because “the call of stones” reched me!LOL

    I am really upset with the displays of Christmas before even Thanksgiving comes and Thanksgiving such a great holiday on it’s own but it is diminished into ‘turkey
    day’! I even do not like turkey much, preffer duck or chicken, he-he…
