Description from Mommykat Bubbly Chick: So one of my foster boys recently had a birthday! he only had cupcakes, because we are having a big party with cake & eriks parents & my sister next weekend. He also got presents (of course) and picked his own b-day dinner (Pizza). On Sunday, My husband took the birthday boy, Zak & Rhi to the Reading Phils ball game.
Tonight the former b-day boy used his pretend phone to make a big call. He pretended to call his bio parent- on the fake phone called her 'Ms. so&so...said Daddy loves me- took me to a ball game for my birthday, Mommy loves me, she made me cupcakes for my birthday. ' Oh made me CRY!!!!!!!
Sometimes I get busy and need a reminder why I am a special needs foster parent. (yes he called her MS. Last Name!)

Just keep those times in your heart where they belong and it makes up for all the arguing etc. Love grows where love begins, no matter where it begins and comes from

Lynn, given this one’s difficulties, I think this is as close as he has ever come to standing uo for himself, and allowing our healthy love to take the place of the ‘love’ he was raised with.
