“I'm Feeling Better”

Description from Purple Chick aka Violet: Just wanted to give all of you an update....
To all of you who were sending me thoughts and prayers, during my pneumonia
, I sincerely THANK YOU.....
You are a wonderful group of ladies.... so caring.....
I am much better now.... it was rough for a while... I was sick for about a month.... but now I am back to work... I am so happy to be feeling better.... I was very tired of being sick.... the doctor released me for work but said I still need to take it easy and build up my strength... I am still weak and have a little cough now and then... but I can BREATHE ..... it's amazing to get a full deep breathe again....
and best of all now I can feel like getting back to
making jewelry!!!!! Yeah !!!! And spending more time on LB !!!!!!

Some of the spirits there are benevolent, others most definitely are NOT, like the one that haunts the state building, he scares the crap even outta me, and I don’t scare easily. Unfortunately I don’t still have my harley, though I’m not allowed to drive anymore anyhow. My ex husband got it, which seriously ticked me off, as I rebuilt that baby myself. ’49 panhead that had been modernized, rather poorly at that. Through going to swap meets, I redid her back to original, complete with a rigid frame, old SU carborator, and the original 6 volt system, heh.

Violet! I’m so glad that you’re feeling better, but I’m still going to give you my old energy conservation speech (from when I was an active RN). Ahem … (throat clearing) … ok … think of your energy as a large rock on top of a hill, it doesn’t take much to get it to roll to the bottom, but it takes alot of work to get it back to the top … in other words DON’T OVERDO IT!! Or your rock will keep ending up at the bottom of the hill … another way to think of it is like a glass of water being filled one drop at a time, if you drink up all the water in one glup it’ll take a long time to fill the glass, but if you sip it and give it time to refill alittle you’ll still have water at the end of the day … give yourself rest breaks … often! Hugs!!

I always found that my patients understood the need for not “overdoing” and taking rest breaks better if they could tie it to an image in their minds … the best thing it works for any age & any intelligence level because it’s so easy to visualize.

And I must add my cautions to everyone else’s. A colleague had pneumonia with a collapsed lung. She was out for over a month and then came back 1/2 time for a week or so. She teaches PE, unfortunately she can’t take it easy at work.
