   I’m not very happy right now. Walked in Mama’s house, and she said, “What happened to you? How many people did you scare off with that bushy hair of yours?”. I had just come from getting it trimmed and thought I looked pretty snazzy, myself. I was not born with the curly hair you see in the picture. It was more like my daughter’s. After the last pregnancy, though, BOING! I have really curly hair now, and my mom can’t stand it. Sorry for dumping. She just made me feel really bad, and Bubbly had this pick with a name I coulf relate to.

   It’s a great pick, Bubbly!!!!!!!!! I love those peach coin rondelles!

   And Debra ~ embrace those curls. Did you see my photo at Sam’s graduation? And that was after I tried to straighten it. I learned long ago to let my mother’s comments roll off my shoulders. (I had a lot of help learning that, too. Thank goodness for insurance. LOL)

   Lovely colour combo, Lorrie. Debra, my oldest grandson had straight hair until he went through puberty and now he has gorgeous curly hair and he loves it. Don’t let anyone tell you curly hair isn’t just gorgeous.

    BTW, Debra, regarding your hair — I’ve often looked at your photo and thought what pretty hair you have! Regarding mothers and their comments, well….. once I got a perm when I was an adult (married and with a toddler of my own) and thought it looked very nice. My mother looked at me and said, “It IS a wig, isn’t it?” When I told her no, she laughed and shook her head. I always got the feeling she thought it should have been a wig so I could just take it right back off my head. Oh, Debra, I could write a book…..maybe two…..

    Debra, I’d kill for your hair! mine is ramrod straight – in the 60′s, people used to ask me if i ironed it! Then, I cut it really short and spiky, which is great for my hair – and she hated it. Always commented negatively on it when she saw it. Now i’ve grown it back out – and now she says, ‘do something with your hair! Get it out of your face’! just can’t please moms….

    No, not the therapist’s couch, but the beading table! When something doesn’t just ‘roll off’ we can write to our buddies here, and then head for the beads. Just trying to solve a design problem will calm me down and remind me that I can do something worthwhile.
