Nerja a white 2 year old Arabian gelding,was traumatized by a 9 year old girl when she blinded him by calling him over to her & with a pencil in each hand, stabbed his eyes as he bent his head down to her.
He became a permanent resident at Big Sky and still trusted strangers,,he never refused some fresh greens or the gift of an apple, kising your hand with his gentle lips.
He passed away at age 11 ~ we miss him so...

Karokat says:I really hope that girl who blinded poor Nerja was put away somewhere before she did any more damage to animals or people! Big Sky Animal Sanctuary sounds like a wonderfull place. I’m glad there are people who try so hard to make up for the cruelty of others. Good for you for volunteering!

I included some black stones to represent the heart condition of that 9 yr.old & others like her.
Nerja was pure white, but perhaps the stress caused him to begin to turn gray which is why the tourmilated quartz was chosen.

Nerja was a beautiful horse. He does look like he was a gentle creature. I don’t know a lot about horses, but that isn’t very old for a horse is it? The sanctuary sounds like a wonderful place for these needy animals!!

I hope that child got serious counselling~ she did it out of revenge against nerja owner, who asked her pareents to keep her from going through the field as a short cut to her school bus…The next day she blinded him..:(
