“Jewelry Box”

Description from Elis Mom: When I was a little girl, my Grandmother bought me a jewelry box made of black laquered wood and inlaid with abalone shells. The drawers had a red velvet lining. Very Oriental looking. It even had a stamped tin locking mechanism similar to a padlock. I still have the box, but the lock doesn't work anymore, so I am hoping to use it as a pendant in an upcoming project.

Beautiful pick! I think I have a similar jewelry box from long ago – only mine is locked shut and I don’t have the key anymore. I call it my mystery box, cause I forget what’s in it – lol!

Susie, this is a wonderful pick — perfect choices for your description! Wonderful memory for you, I’m sure! :D

BTW, do you plan to make a pendant out of the lock or the jewelry box? LOL!!! ;) Hmmmm….one made out of the jewelry box is something I would pay to see…. 8O

That really would be some pendant! Guess that sentence isn’t really clear…I was hoping to attach the Asian Frame to the padlock to make the pendant. The padlock is tin with the image of a crane stamped onto it.

    Glad to be of help!
As an aside, I plan on using the asian window pendant as the ring half of the clasp.(if it’s not too big)
